44points
The thread was about rivalries.....I just said that UC-LC wasn't a rivalry yet..My opinion...We all know about what they say about opinions though, don't we???...And if saying UC-LC isn't a rivalry yet means I'm a snob or classless, then so be it.... Remember this, it was part of your classless post remember going to Tiptonville when Stanley and Rodney were playing(early 90's)...Union City beat Lake Co. 90 something to 30 something....Stanley and Rodney elected to stay home that night to study for a final....That's the kind of memory about UC-LC I have..... Is it coming back now backinthaoc
pcbobcats
Clay Co. was much better in the first game, the next two were close with one in overtime and the last they won by 10. That's hardly way better. But, that Clay Co. team is done...now Pickett Co. is much better with everyone back from a substate team. Clay loses all their starters. This a great rivalry. WishIWasABaller
Temple vs. Grace These games had to be played at the university the crowds were so big.
lakecountyfan007
I don't know about proving anything to Humboldt....Union City had beaten them 10 straight times before the wins this year by Humboldt..... I'm sure if Union City and Lake County play long enough the Falcons will take the Tornadoes to the woodshed in something.... Sorry you have issues with Union Citians....It's also nice to see you are showing the state how much class you have... What do you want that now heated rivily with obion co. Boy when union city beats them by 40 now that is a rivily. And plus they are in different classes. Only thing that union city and obion have to play for is the braggin right for union city. obion is sorry and you know that the rivily has lost its savior since witby left. And that is why that the rivily between lake co. and union city will grow into a heated one. I was at both games during the season and both sides were packed. That is the start of a rivily in district 14a and probley the biggest.
defender25
Same ole same ole. Why is it that you Union Citians think you are the best thing since a pocket on a shirt. If it were not for that Honda/Harley store, there wouldn't be any reason for anyone to ever visit the town. Just a bunch of know it all snobs who don't know how to handle sucess without rubbuing their good fortune in everbodies face. So you have beat LC on a consistent basis, you didn't prove anything to Humboldt did you. I certainly hope that in the coming seasons, LC takes UC to the outhouse in some sport. They will show you how to win and be good sports about it. You are all no class having SNOBS! All of you. And a 2006 gold ball!

mrbigster
To have a rivalry, you have to beat the team you are supposed to be a rival with... Lake Co and Union City had not played in years until this year..... Lake County has ONE win since 1979...... Maybe it IS a rivalry to Lake County NOW.....It WILL be to Union City I remember going to Tiptonville when Stanley and Rodney were playing(early 90's)...Union City beat Lake Co. 90 something to 30 something....Stanley and Rodney elected to stay home that night to study for a final....That's the kind of memory about UC-LC I have..... With all that said...They will be a HUGE rivalry now...Being in the same district and with a Sisco and Whitby on the bench...UC and South Fulton will be a big rivalry and UC-Humboldt will be (already is to an extent, they have played each other many times in the past few years) I doubt they were at home studying? WHHcatcher
WHH vs. anybody might be a stretch, but yeah, we have a hard-nosed basketball team. Our top two rivalries are definitely East Robertson & Jo Byrns. I can't wait for next tuesday when the devils come out of their dungeon or w/e yall call it up there. We'll definitely have our place rockin all 4 quarters.
cwoodsboy
Temple vs. Grace Agreed.Especially after last year,I think it got a little more heated last year.Always draws a big crowd and both teams take the game very seriously and its always a close one. Natural_Gas
Temple vs. Grace- They have played each other at least 4 times a year for the last few so they know each other well. All the students knowing each other and trash talk really help fuel the fire.
