Way back in 1976, I played in an Indiana state semi-final football game against long time former NFL kicker Morten Anderson. We won the game after he hooked an extra point. In 1977, I played a football game against a team lead by legendary former New York Yankee, Don Mattingly. Another former major league player, Jeff Schultz, was also on that same team. There are many other current or former NFL players I saw while they were in high school back in southern Indiana when I was broadcasting games on tv back there. One, Kevin Hardy, went on to a pretty successful pro carreer as a linebacker.

Does anyone know where Eric Westmoreland (Marion Co.) is right now? I know he was with the Jags, but I don't know if he still is anymore...on Madden 06 it has him listed as a Free Agent...has anyone picked him up since then?

Eric is now an assistant coach at Baylor School in Chattanooga.

I'm suprised no one saw Chad Pennington when he was at Webb...

i watched chad pennington get beat by westmoreland at westmoreland in the playoffs in 95. westmoreland's tailback clint brown went on to beat pennington out of the mr. football award in 2-A that year.....

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
