bbsesq
Just wondering...is your team moving up to 3a...4a...or 5a the next classification period? You know...since you are for competition...and all. You mean like Alcoa and Maryville?
Antwan
You mean like Alcoa and Maryville? Nah...I don't remember either of them calling anyone else anticompetition. If you are going to do that...you must be willing to move up. You know...just to get the best competition. Better yet...maybe you could go to DII A...those guys are pretty good. You already play most of them. It shouldn't be much of an adjustment.
Indian
It's not just about who wins the state titles, it's about what happens in the regular season and playoffs, which teams are kept out of the playoffs and which teams are knocked out by privates. It's obvious, but it seems as if that doesn't matter and the publics should just work harder (or be tougher, as one poster on here said). my2cents
And if they don`t win any should people just shut up and play? That is what they (pubs) wanted, that is why they put it in effect.
tnsddeveloper
OK ... update on this thread. There is a distinct possibility that there will be an all-private final in 1A and 3A. There is also a distinct possibility that 1 of the 2 finalist in 2A will be private too. There will be a lot of stink if 5 out of the 6 finalists in those classes are privates. Also ... the innuendo has started. Lewis County's coach (Bobby Sharp) made the following statement in the Tennessean: “They have no business being in 2A this year. They are good enough to be in 5A.” The article can be found on CoachT's homepage and here: http://preps.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...;story_id=12930
Indian
"Lewis County (10-2) had given up just 41 points this season. The Panthers gave up 513 yards of total offense."

Play patsies all year and expect to get creamed when you get into the playoffs. Play good opponents and you will be competitive. The end. Is it gonna be a long off-season if that happens. When is the first opportunity for there to be a vote on the existing alignment/multiplier system? Things change and change and change. Don't look for a dynasty, its just a good year.
bluengold
A couple replies from previous post. First of all people talked about Lewis County playing patsies: well they were in a 9 team region allowing the to play 2 non region games. The played Hickman Co and Waynesboro. Programs have to have money to run these were money games. As for the rest of the 8 games you have to play who is in your region. If you look at last years Goodpasture team it really does not reveal last years team. How many different kids played for this team than were on last years team? How many had to sit out last year for changing schools? How many Rural Schools have a $1.8 million dollar fieldhouse and coaching facility? Your right all things are equal! tnsddeveloper
How many different kids played for this team than were on last years team? Just the incoming freshman ... about 98% coming from Goodpasture Middle. How many kids moved into Lewis County? How many had to sit out last year for changing schools? None that I'm aware of. How many Rural Schools have a $1.8 million dollar fieldhouse and coaching facility? Apparently you haven't visited Goodpasture's facilities! Your right all things are equal! You're right ... privates don't have all the public funds and free tuition like public schools do. Privates are self sustaining.
