Well O.K. I do want a BIG win and I want to go far this year of course. I would not think a blowout with Mo East and there speed and you are right that 21 would be too much but remember Mo West let them score more and I am happy with a 2 touchdown win every week. Mo East will give us a game. I think they are as good as Tenn. High at running the ball and they are able of scoring but I am not sure of there D. I just hope our Defense is up for the task again and our Offense can keep rolling.

Yes, they might have a breakaway offense but so do we. And their defense...is it as good as THS? I don't think so. Our defense ain't bad agreed? But yes, they have a threat that we cannot discount. We have to go out and play our A game...no holds barred. We have to contain the sweep...bottom line. Guys...if you are on here just make sure you don't look past this one! And take no prisoners.

Here is the record and points break down:

Region 1

Sullivan South 10-1 Opponents Record 56-55 Points For 323 (29.4 PPG AVG) Points Against 125 (11.4 PPG AVG)

Region 2

Morristown East 8-3 OR 59-52 PF 325 (29.5 PPG AVG) PA 201 (18.3 PPG AVG)

AN UNNAMED WEB SITE PREDICTS THE SCORE TO BE: SS 28 EAST 21

Common Opponents

Morristown East and Sullivan South

Greeneville East 28 – 23 SS 28 – 21

Daniel Boone East 28 – 7 SS 49 – 6

Johnson Co East 17 – 14 SS 14 – 10

That being said, the strength of East is their running game and speed. It is a yardage and clock eating offense. If SS is not able to get a stop or two they will lose this game (the clock will click away while they are on defense). On the other hand, the strength of SS is their passing game. This is potentially an offense that will make huge gains and score a ton of points extremely quickly, but normally does not use much clock. If East's past defense is as weak as some East fans have stated then the above predition will prove true.

I believe SS will win, but since it is Morristown East, I am pulling for them.

 i think this is one of the best matchups in the state this friday. south has a gunslinger w/ very cpable receivers while m. east has athletes galore. hope south represents our region well. no prediction here. i just think it will be a hotly contested game. to both schools good luck and be safe. :thumb:

Got to research those Rebs a little.... I'm impressed. Your not just going to make a blatant remark but actually intend to analize the situation. We will take that as respect. We are curious in understanding the history of your one field situation. Which school was first? West. But the field is not near either school correct? And, Morrisville has been a boom town for years so why not to afford another field? Especially with your historical success. Also, you have one of our Optimist club stars. He would be a Sophmore RB. His name is Colt Cutshaw. We are curiuous to know if he is a member of the team.

I checked the roster at Brushy Mountain, he's pulling 3-5. :thumb:

You will take that score? And you want to go past M West this year. Better up those expectations a couple of notches. I expect nothing less than a blowout. Because if we can't blow it out then we can't play with M West...and we sure can't go past them! 'Cmon...get some faith. I don't want everyone to be a braggart...in fact we should just chill however, right now we are twice the team we were last year at this time. If we let M East score 21 on us then we should just go ahead and turn our gear in. 'Cmon now don't get complacent. We did not come this far for nothing. Remember Tennessee High? You don't think we can play with anybody? We have the best offense this side of Knoxville. It's time to get pumped.

then turn that gear in cause they will score 21 im not sayin east will win but they will score 21

2f9d......twice the team...lol....hey...curt is good....really really good...i will give you that....but you don't even have a jv class running back....you had two very good running backs last year..... and i don't remember your O line freakin out against DB...so don't give me this...'we are twice the team as last year" its like the tv show....."stop the curt....stop the rebels"...luckily, no one has figured that one out yet.....

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
