Is the Karns head coaching job open? I'm hearing they've hired Jeff Minor from Oak Ridge. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Knox County policy is that the job has to be advertised for two weeks after the written resignation has been received by the personnel office before any interviews can be conducted. The Fulkerson resignation just happened in the last couple of days, according to the story in today's News-Sentinel, so there is no way a hire could have been made yet. If this hiring follows the history of recent openings for a head football coaching position at other schools in Knox County, it will likely take at least a month to get it done.

I think you got it backwards. He should resign before he accepts, cause we all know that he will not accept when and if it is offered to him. Save Karns from offering by resigning before it is offered. He just wants to stay in Oak Ridge so that he can try and continue to make their life miserable.

Does anyone know where Spencer Riley is these days? I know he worked with the Lineman 3-4 yrs ago. Hung out behind the visitor's fence one night when they played @ Bearden, and he seemed to be doing a good job. Really passionate, making adjustments, coaching technique, etc.

Found him. He took a positon at the University of West Georgia:

Thanks HTV. Yeah. He is gonna be a good one. I know it's hard to coach "attitude", "work ethic", and "toughness"; however, those things that he showed as a player seem to be just what UT needs in a OL coach. That is what they have lacked with Marrone, Stephens, and the current powder puff.

well coach minor is such a better choice because his offense did so well with out # 1 carrying the ball every other play.........

It also helps when the #1 QB that the whole offense seemed to be built around gets hurt. And not to mention the abundance of talent he had on the offensive line. If coach Gray is such a great coach why is he not coaching somewhere???????????????

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
