That's why you never bet with your heart.

 

Set up the grill mwtfan -- I'll be eating crow.

 

Okay -- not really -- I was pretty close. How could I possibly know that umpire in the field would come up with critical bogus interference call (the laugher of the year). How about my error prediction, but who could have imagined the number these two turned out last night (had to be close to 20). That won't get it done vs the Trojans.

 

West has looked better, but I still thought they were on cruise control -- even when 2 to 2.

 

Not over yet. Then again maybe it is, but maybe Lance doesn't know all -- but at 99% -- he knows quite a bit.

 

Statman -- lady chief contemplating retirement -- she is smarter than us all -- that's always good for a few coach of the year votes. If she wins it over Sents, then her strategy will be revealed.

IF she wins IMAC Coach of the Year over Sents, THAT will be the laugher of the year. Talk about a loss of credibility for the conference heads.

I imagine that comes out with all-conference --- Does anyone know when those will be published.

 

I agree mwtfan. Heck - she wins the conference for the second year and goes undfeated this year (4 games better than next finisher). I guess that is a no-brainer but I wouldn't bet on it. Seen too many rooks too many times. I say she gets hosed.

I know I haven't been big on predictions, but I think you're dead right on this one (she gets hosed). I think there's an agreement that the All-Conference Players & Coach of the Year aren't released until after the District Tournament. I never saw it published anywhere at all last year, and I was watching for it. I don't believe it was ever published, at least not in Morristown. Not sure I'd publish this one either if it turns out this way - much too embarrasing.

OK, Lance we hosed one ourselves last night. I cleaned the ol' crystal ball and I hope you put on a new pot of tea. What you got for next round. Pats seemed inspired last night, but couldn't finish. Going out on a limb to predict an upset tonight. Lady Canes will be down after loss last night, while Lady Pats lost one they weren't supposed to win. This should be a good game, but I now will go with my heart (not always the right thing). Whoever has error total under double digits will move on. Lady Pats squeak by Canes tonight (Jeff win 3-0, East win 2-1 during season). West/Cherokee could be "bloopfest" of the year. This will be a good game as well, but ya gotta go with the undefeated. To be the man/woman you gotta beat the man/woman. West gets the win.

Look no further than District bball from this past year. Greeneville went undefeated on both sides and both Duncan and Crumbley had to share coach of the year honors. The boys had a three-way tie for coach of the year. Out of six teams, that makes the award a little less significant.

Inter Mountain Athletic Conference - basically District 2 - AAA comprised (in softball) of Cherokee, Cocke County, Greeneville, Jefferson County, Morristown East & Morristown West.

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
