Hillsboro vs. Hoover scrimmage!

QUOTE(Yale Formation @ May 3 2007 - 09:46 AM) 826450758[/snapback]Coach:

When will the Burros be going to the tourney?

I always feel bad for the HOGS in these 7 on 7 games; they work real hard in the off-season & don't get to participate. I wish there was some way to get them involved in the competition. They're the engine that makes the car go.

The hogs will get some competition at Western KY big man challenge in the middle of June. They will host a 7 on 7 Tournament as well.

When Adeylot left with his sorry crybaby coaches many on coach t complained. It appears that gettin rid of them was a wise thing for the buro. Things aint so sweet where all them scattered too but they cant go back now. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Lets call a spade a spade. It is really cool all the stuff Blade has them doing. And Hillsboro is very talented. But the overall competition in 4A is not up to the other divisions. There are no privates to compete with which is a plus. There are only 3 maybe 4 teams that are good in 4A every year. Maryville, Hillsboro and accasionally Melrose. If anyone thinks Maryville would have won as many championships over the same span in 5A then they are nuts. Again understand Hillsboro and MAryville will face each other again in Murfreesboro in 07 the primary reason being the lack of competition in 4A.

This is so true of a statement! I love football and I read and post in all aspects of the high school game. 4A is the most watered down with all of the classifications. Maryville fans will get on here and go nuts. They will post how 4A had a better record against 5A last year, but it is true. Most 4A schools couldn't compete each week (week after week) in 5A. They can beat one on any given Friday, but doing it every week they can not. Look at Middle TN regions. Check the teams that move down and up in classifications and see how their records get better in 4A

examples: Kenwood, Beech, Columbia, Clarksville, Henry County, Hillsboro

yes Hillsboro was once in 5A and they went out in the first round twice.

The others have excelled at the 4A level and when they were 5A they took beatings!!!!!!!!!!

Hillwood in its last three years as a 4A school went 6-5, 9-2, and 12-1. In the two years since going up, they are 1-19. That being said, I still think the athletes come in cycles at the typical zone school. You have your ups and downs. Both Maryville and Hillsboro have "open zones" that help them to avoid this cycle. For years, Pearl Cohn has had a "magnet" school within its regular school (first Art and then Business) and nobody seems to care about that little perk. John Henderson lived in South Nashville and was zoned to McGavock. It is a good thing the training he got in the Art magnet at Pearl Cohn has served him so well. I'm sure he is doodling down in Jacksonville right now! C'mon, send it in. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Adeylot turned your program around and you talk about him like that.

Howdy Foozeball! It has been a while since we last conversed. As I agree with much of what you say, I couldn't help but add to the comments since you mentioned HC. In recent history (2000's) HC did take beatings from the best in 5A (Franklin, Ravenwood, etc.). But prior to that, in our up years we most certainly competed with a semi loss to Gallatin and one other quarter final appearance in 5A. But you are very accurate in saying that going down to 4A has been a large improvement for us.

tgif-football is not the voice of the Burros. His opinions are his and his alone. The current staff and former players have the utmost respect for the former staff. The Burros have previously worked and currently are working hard to build a winning tradition regardless of the coaching staff.

Lets call a spade a spade. 4A schools have less male athletes at their school than the 5A schools (obviously). Put 500-600 more males at Maryville, Hillsboro or Melrose and lets see how they would do against the 5A schools. That is the only way to fairly justify your arguement. Add 800 more males to Alcoa and lets see what they would do against the 5A schools. After your team beats Maryville or Hillsboro, then you can talk about how weak the 4A teams are.
