Let me take a shot at this one. After testing the waters on Chetham County last Friday night, I expect round 2 to run incredibly more smoothly, and here's why. We all know the threat of Davis; he is to say the least explosive anywhere his coaches puts him, and Smith who is exceptionally talented at avoiding tackles, passing, and making plays is the greater threat. So, we all know SC's game plan; stop Davis and Smith, and SC wins. However, here is why GV will win Friday night: I expect Gordonsville to run a ton of play action pass (quick routes like slants and hitches). It is the most effective way to place SC's coaches on their heels early, and more importantly, it gives GV more than a competitive edge--it keeps SC hesitant and confused. In the end, GV's coaches will be better prepared for their known rivals rather than a first time opponent from Davidson County. Nevertheless, GV's biggest holes reside in the secondary, and if they do not plug them, it could be a long night. Again, I welcome any dissenters .
