Burke Boy,

The truth is OR will spank your Govs and The Owls. How do ya like them apples. Nice post for a newbie. Grow up.

Nice try genius. #1 - wrong gender. #2 - maybe I am a "newbie", but I was under the impression this was the kind of board that people tried to use facts to support their opinions instead of making things up to try to tear other teams down. #3 - you're telling me to "grow up" ... your a real laugh. #4 - obviously, you don't have a real good grasp on the "truth" but as far as the "spanking" you're speaking of, we'll know soon enough how true that is relative to "my Govs". #5-You represent Oak Ridge so well. I'm sure all the Wildcat fans on here are real proud to associate with you.

I think the smart money says that OR will top out the region. They seem to find a way to win. WB had a lot of momentum going into the Maryville game after they had trounced the Owls. WB and Farragut are still OR's biggest opponents, but I wouldn't totally discount Ootlewah. You wonder though if OR will ever let someone settle in at quarterback and not be constantly looking over his shoulder.

This will be by far the biggest challenge OR has faced thus far. William Blount has both size and speed. OR does not lack for talent by any stretch. This is one of the most talented OR teams I have seen. It rivals (in talent) the 1991 championship team and the 1996 (I think) team with 3 D1 caliber players (Bohanon, Gibson, McCadley) which had a NFL receiver. But the execution is no where close to those teams. If this team could execute to the level of their talent they would win the region and have a chance to compete with Riverdale. Our tandem of receivers with Coffey (#2) and Rogers (#4), both juniors, is first class. I believe 2 of the OL / DL will play on Saturdays easily (Carson #66 and Stuart # 65). Not to mention a running back (#5 Stephens) averaging about 200 yard per game and not even playing full games. I thought he would be very good with tremendous speed and moves but I would have never expected the power that he has at his size. The real issue IMO with this team is execution. Too many penalties, mistakes, etc. We will know alot more about this OR team after we see how they handle WB. I believe this WB team is outstanding and OR should not be fooled by it's 2 recent losses. I have major concerns about this game. Not sure if it's my heart or my head, but I predict OR 21 - 14.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
