wave13
The playoffs are here, this should be a great game! Gallatin has been on fire and playing great defense, they are coming into this game with alot of momentum. Independence is a tuff well balanced football team so lets hear it , who takes it?? jacquestrape
Gallatin may have the greatest football tradition in the history of middle Tennessee. They are well coached and encouraged by a community that has always shown tremendous support. They are playing a program that has won a region and earned a playoff berth for the first time. While the Indy Eagles are celebrating their accomplishments the Green Wave is still striving to add to a long list of program laurels. I don't think records or region standing will mean anything on Friday. This will turn into a close defensive struggle. Home field advantage may be the difference. Indy in a close one if they can get the smiles off their faces and refocus on the playoffs. Otherwise it'll be a very disappointing one and out for the Eagles. GWAVE1
Gallatin has crept in the back door by playing its best football right here towards the end. I don't think this team has played its best yet. The offense has moved the ball very consistantly all year except for the Hunters Lane game. Both QBs are complimenting each other tremendously. With Boo playing everywhere it is creating a huge problem with defenses trying to find him. When they do, Matthews is busting out. Hopefully our defense will continue to play like they have the past two weeks. The key is the defense playing solid. Both of those wins were must wins and I think that is to Gallatin's advantage. Plus Gallatin has been to the playoffs before and Indy is going to get a good dose of the expectations and stress of the game. Gallatin on the other hand...heck we weren't even supposed to be here. Nobody is even expecting us to play this region champion even close. Gallatin avg 19.3 pts a game, giving up 22 Independence avg 23.4 pts a game, giving up 15.
uoftfanatic
I'm worried about this game. Its the playoffs you should be afraid, be very afraid. everyones game is bumped up at least a notch and you can bank on upsets this friday night. Could it be the Eagles?? very possible. I pick Gallatin they are very playoff savy.
sleeper3773
Gallatin may have the greatest football tradition in the history of middle Tennessee. No I'm pretty sure Brentwood Academy (10 state championships), Montgomery Bell Academy (8 state championships), Battle Ground Academy (6 state championships), Riverdale (4 state championships and almost all coming in the last decade), and probably more have greater football tradition in middle Tennessee than the Gallatin Green Wave who have 3 state championships. This is not taking anything away from them but these other schools have better and more prestigious football tradition in middle tennessee. Dist11fan
In each of the past three years, Gallatin has lost to a region 6 team (Ravenwood twice and Brentwood) that runs a spread offense with a highly mobile QB, good running back, and fast receivers. Each of these Region 6 teams also had very good defenses, especially against the run. In each of those years, Gallatin was either a one or two seed from Region 5 playing a much lower seeded team. This year the situation is reversed. In case you Green Wave fans don't know it, Independence will bring this exact same scheme against you this Friday night. Unless Gallatin has made a big shift in their offensive sets and defensive capabilities this year, they are in for a long night against Indy. The one thing Indy fans are going to miss (and they probably won't appreciate it or be willing to give up their home field for it) is the delight in playing football in Gallatin's stadium. Climbing those steep concrete steps that are placed just a few yards from the field puts you right on top of the action. Whether watching extra points sail over the trees at the north (?) end of the stadium or sitting next to the great Gallatin fans who like to sit on the visitor side, this is a stadium every team should play in at least once. Bigdogroxx
IHS is going to be ready to play this game. Yes the are very excited to win the region and make playoffs but just seeing the body language of this team after the win showed me something. They are ready to focus and play. I cant wait to be in the stands cheering for my schools first ever playoff game!

You're out of your mind!! Indy fans are not missing a thing. That is the worse place ever to play a play off game at. The fans are very rude. The first they do is invade the visitor side. Its the only fans I know that do that and don't even say its because of spill over because it starts way before their own stands fill up its calculated. The only good thing about it is it backfired when we were there. It made it extra sweet to beat them in their own house. I know their rich in tradition and all that but their fans have not one more ounce of love than any other teams out there. I am glad they don't have a home game its really really rude what they do.
