yh82
Maybe more of a reflection on Oakland being classy and helpful.
FalconDad49
If I am not mistaken, he get the halo off in the next week or two. After the halo, he will be a neck brace while doing physical therepy. Hey, that is great news. 2priceless, Bacillum and anyone who has information, please keep us posted. Information about this young man is never off topic.
magoo043
IS THIS A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME WITH GARY RANKIN PRACTICING AT THE NEW OHS INDOOR FACILITIES? I KNOW I WOULD NOT WANT ANYBODY USING THE NEW BUILDING BEFORE MY SCHOOL GOT TO USE IT. How about this......Oakland DID use their new building this year

2priceless
I am sure that we were happy to take Rankin's money to use the facility. I was told awhile back that it could be rented out by various sports teams to help pay the note ..

Lost Old Dad
I am sure that we were happy to take Rankin's money to use the facility. I was told awhile back that it could be rented out by various sports teams to help pay the note .. I would bet a BUNCH that it did NOT come out of his pocket unless he was just carrying it for the Booster Club or the school! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
Philster043
Hmm, I'd be very surprised if this happens. Gary Rankin has a very good young upcoming team at Alcoa, as they only lose one senior on the offense (Randall Cobb) and they're likely to have a chance at two more state championships in a row at least. maryVOLrebel
I don't see that. The cupboard is still full @ Alcoa and should be for the next 4 years.
Sweep Left
The announcement should be made within a day or two. Does anyone have a list of finalists?
Tornado89
Rankin played his typical cat and mouse game for a raise, and Oakland apparently bit. I am so disappointed in TPTB. First for being played by a lying cheat, and second for trying to pull a fast one on the OHS faithful, alumni , Players, and fans. I am about finished with this place. Are you saying its a done deal. Boro Balla06
no offense but why would Rankin leave Alcoa (state powerhouse and bright future) for Oakland (no offense but not the same caliber as Alcoa).. but hey i guess Rankin doesnt care about rings and his kids all he wants is more money.. or better yet maybe he is tired of losing to George Quarles and Maryville every year.. haha.. hey he shouldnt feel to bad though, they have beaten everyone for the past 60 games in a row.. but hey i guess time will tell
