I am going to try to get by the Smyrna vs BGA tomorrow to see Coach U!!! Would like to catch the OHS vs BA one on Friday, but not sure if I can pull that one off yet.

 

Just got in from the scrimmage. I must say that I saw Brentwood Academy get whipped by Oakland. Total offense was probably about 250 to MAYBE 100 Oaland's Defense was outstanding. Final score was 3 tds to 0 with a 4th called back. Kicking game needs some work in my opinion, but it's still early in the season. All in all a VERY good showing for the Patriots!

Oakland had 2 scores called back. Both were long runs by BJ Nelson. Oaklands front 4 on Defense could be the best in the state.

Congrats to Oakland on the whipping, however it does not sound like typical BA. If someone can help a cripple out by letting me know what all went down. Keep the momentum going however you Patriots. Don't let anything slow you down. Learn your weaknesses before someone exploits them even in this big win. Only time can tell now where Oakland will stop with this year's team.

riverdale whipped up on hillwood yesterday, no surprises and not saying much. didnt see them against MBA or whites creek. but they looked strong against a weak opponent. still no trouble finding playmakers, i think they have a very good team

 

dont know the final score didnt stay the whole time. hillwood could do nothing on offense the whole day, except when given a short field due to a fumble they scored the first TD (passing) on their second possession

i think we are playing these teams to give a young team some confidence...even if an opponent is weak and you can still gauge how your team is to an extent...and we can still coach them on mistakes and missed blocks and missed cuts...i am sure they are getting quality reps against their teammates that make up for the weaker scrimmage teams

      Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?

      Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
