I think maybe Shelbyville Central's coach inviting them to their in door facility and ball field before the game might had a bearing on the game? Central's jealously of Cascade has gone to far!!! It is a slap in the face of every Cascade parent and child to do this. CALL YOU SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER!

yes, but you are biased towards cascade and so you would say something like that. just don't blame shelbyville for this. they are neutral and just doing a team favor, one in which any team would do if they were in the same situation. what does your tax dollars have to do with this? are you just saying that to take a shot at shelbyville? sounds like the ultimate excuse. you gave richland a back-handed compliment and then blamed shelbyville for the loss. nuts.

I am pretty sure that NO TAX DOLLARS were spent on that facility at SCHS, I was around when they started RAISING THE MONEY to build the thing. I know that it is quite common for schools to look for places to hit before a road game, especially of this magnitude. I know for a fact of another school that was trying to find a place to hit. I know of football teams that used indoor facilities the week of the state championship. Sometimes these teams pay to use the facilities, other times it's done as a favor, and I believe most schools would allow just about anyone to use their facility. Sounds like sour grapes to me, and I am an outsider and have been for several years now. Also, I know many Cascade fans too, many of them good friends, but this argument is absurd.

Agreed Randy, I was just noticing this thread and also thought this argument was very, very silly. This happens all the time all over the state, especially in tournament time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. It is a baseball etiqutte thing anyway amongst coaches. Besides, since when has indoor batting practice led directly to an automatic win anyway. You still have to perform when the lights come on. This is silly. Good post Randy.

I happen to know for a FACT that no tax dollars went into building that indoor facility. Parents, Coaches and Players worked extremely hard for YEARS in order to build that facility. So, you have no clue what you are talking about, that much is obvious. Also, as the other post said, teams often lend their facilites to other teams upon request. I know in college sometimes when our field was too wet to take pregame BP we let the opposing team hit in our facility, but i guess that's because we wanted them to beat us right? It was just BATTING PRACTICE, no magic secrets were revealed or pro tips given, they just hit some balls, you know like college and pro teams do before every game.

 

Also, as far as Shelbyville being jealous of Cascade, what a joke! Cascade has had a lot of success over the past couple of seasons and kudos to players, they played well and earned it. But Cascade is the one with a huge inferiority complex in regard to Shelbyville, the fact that this discussion is taking place is evident. Its the reason that cascade fans (not all but some) throw Shelbyville into discussions that have nothing to do with Shelbyville at all. And maybe if Cascade's coach could control his mouth and a certain sports writer could control his bias, both schools would be on much better terms to begin with and these shots and discussions would not occur.
