Maryville vs Halls

I'll have to give Halls the edge in this one from reading on some other threads they sound as if they may have it all this year, and Maryville don't even know who the QB is yet. so even though MHS has a little win streak going i'd have to name Halls as the favorite in week 0.

maryville will win and win BIG. halls wont know where the endzone is after being hit by this years maryville D. with all those returning linebackers and safties, and of corse my boi j. smith on the line. and the d tackle spots did lose two starters but this year Brad Heath (6', 220) and Tucker Munns (6'6", 275) they should fill those spots well. as well as junior d tack Dane McCoy (6'2", 255). if you think it will be close your mistaken.

Wow Greyrider--You are very cocky about the Confederates chances, do you know something the rest of us do not?

The main question is : Is Halls better than last year??? They lost some great athletes and a very good offensive line. Preseason hype may be a little oversold.

Overall, though I think Maryville lost more position players and after a 38-30 loss at their place. I think we turn the tables on them this year at home. Also, I think week 0 helps us more than it does the Rebs.

Maryville's D returns all three linebackers in Jeff Booker, Luke Cox, and Cody McCoy. All this season's starting DB's started at least one game last season, and saw a whole lot of PT. Justin Smith is a force on the line, along with Brad Heath, Dane McCoy, and Josh Sullivan. McCoy, Heath, and Sullivan played in big games last year. Look for this years D to be the most experienced in a while.

Maryville's O this year is going to be a threat with the Shuler/Jones combo. Shuler's speed combined with Jones's force is going to be dangerous. Mark Young has matured a lot at quarterback, attending numerous camps and combines. He looks really sharp. Look for him to be connecting with Trenda, Jordan, Brazan, Harris, and Winders for some big time yards. The O line is returning veterans, Coulter, Beets, Englehardt, and one-time starter Taylor Stinnet, who shut down WB's TJ Walker in last years match-up. Look for Cole Loveday, Cody Norton, and Tevin Owsley to factor in on the line somewhere as well.

We'll see you on the 22nd /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

Halls returns more > large senior class > depth

The game is in Halls

The Halls defense will be their strength

All dynastys eventually end and the Halls program is definately on the upswing with coach Julian

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
