my VERY YOUNG RIVERDALE WARRIORS beat smyrna pretty good but smyrna is missing there football players and they are not very good i did see a lot of promising things from this young squad I do like the transfer Bobby Walkup looked good as well as TJ CHESTERFIELD (he played baseball for me )the point guard shot the ball well too and still dribbles pretty good BUT like i said it was smyrna so lets wait a little before we get too excited we are very young but we are talented should be an intresting district

I think people are forgetting Tyler Edwards from Oakland

He can take a game over just as easy as kerry.

Edwards is good, but not ONE player in this region can compare to Kerry Hammonds, hes the most versatile player I have ever seen for his age. Siegel won tonight 94-46 over lincoln county. Wish I knew the stats but Kerry was dominating a completely overmatched Lincoln Co team. They had some shooters but that was it. Kerry was hitting 3's and throwing down dunks. 4 to be exact. NEAL CARROLL, best story ever in this region. Watch out for him this season he looks like a totally different player. He was dominating the paint. Siegel has depth this year, Early projection I know, but I am going to project that Siegel will run into White Station at some point in March. I apologize, but I do not see ANY team in this district competing with Siegel this year. Good luck to all the other teams though.

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
