COY- Randy King or Dotson MVP- KERRY HAMMONDS.

pg- Xavier Smith- Lebanon

sg- Jamal Hughes- Oakland

sf- KERRY HAMMONDS- SIEGEL

pf- LEVON TATE-SIEGEL

c- Tyler Edwards- Oakland

Judak Akers might deserve it BUT I dont see how you can put him on over Hughes or Hammonds. Im sure WC fans want Puckett as center but he was too hurt to make it. Edwards and Tate both are undersized big men but I feel both deserve a spot.

The "SWAMI" sees the awards going as Follows: Coach-of-Year: Dotson (Siegel)

MVP: Judah Akers (Cookeville)

First team all-district:

J. Akers (Cookeville)

K. Hammonds (Siegel)

J. Hughes (Oakland)

X. Smith (Lebanon)

M. Gooch (Siegel)

2nd Team all-district :

M. Hill (Cookeville)

S. Mitchell (White County)

C. Nunley (Lebanon)

T. Edwards (Oakland)

K. Wylie (Cookeville)

L.Tate (Siegel)

A. Puckett (White County)

These are the 12 players that make -up the "SWAMI's" list. The "SWAMI" has spoken !!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty much in agreement with COY and MVP-Except for COY, you have to give it Dotson, coach of the best team in the district and they were able to weather the storm night in and night out. As far as MVP, I think its one of those situation where had Oakland finished first, you would give it to Jamal Hughes, but that was not the case. I am going to provide 2 diff all-district teams, one category with best by position, and the other being the best overall. so here we go:

Best Overall:

1st Team:

Jamal Hughes

Kerry Hammonds

Xavier Smith

Judah Akers

Marc Gooch

2nd Team:

Tyler Edwards

Lavon Tate

Kyle Wylie

Casey Nunley

Vari Craig

Best at Position:

1st team:

Point- Xavier Smith

Wing- Jamal Hughes

Wing- Kerry Hammonds

Post- Lavon Tate

Post- Casey Nunley

2nd Team:

Point- Vante Ellis

Wing- Judah Akers

Wing- Marc Gooch

Post- Vari Craig

Post- Tyler Edwards

Thanks, for the kind words "2priceless", Wouldn't it be something if Oakland could bring the Gold ball back to Oakland !!! Hey, I don't really believe when the playoffs started, that everyone had Oakland winning the Football championship, so , that's why we play the games !!!!

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
