McMillan to UTM Lady Skyhawks?

Yeah I have had the same problem in the past with some kids I thought that could make a difference in their program without any response. However, they have signed a good kid from the Memphis Area and I know for a fact they have some offers on the table to some good athletes in the Memphis area right now. I think there is some fire under Coach's feet. I think she has met with the brass and the message has been made. No program will go from 2-27 to a twenty win season but I think they are looking for some major improvements and some good recruits coming in. I think their problem has been their assist not getting out and finding those diamonds out there. These schools better starting getting in the Memphis girls market because these kids are balln. They are letting them get away to schools outside the state and they are becoming impact players. Amy McNear at Western Kentucky, Mary Jackson Louisville, Jasmine Taylor at Arkansas State, Deja Foster Georgia Tech, and Cyntha Hart St. Johns just to name a few they have let get away.

 

Young ladies that are Major College potential won't go to a school like UT-Martin very often,....If you go and look at rosters of teams the Lady Skyhawks play in their own conference you will see West Tn girls dotting those rosters...Those are the ones getting away....

LOL, nice rumor. Do you actually believe Coach McMillan would leave Butler, Griffin, and Reedy for their Senior seasons? I HIGHLY doubt it. I've heard that Coach McMillan is wanting to eventually go to the college level. However, he's had this Junior class since their Freshman year. Doubt that he'll leave them before their Senior season. After next year, I could see him getting a college job, but we'll see! As far as we all know, Coach Tansil-Gentry at UTM still has her job. This is just a rumor for now!

 

I just heard from some GC lady players that they are also hearing that McMillan is leaving. Does anyone have the facts on this? The freshmen from Gibson/Medina have a choice of where they go next year - knowing if McMillan is staying will determine if some of them stay. I don't agree with that cause I think GCHS is the place to be if you are serious about basketball - at least til the SGHS program has a few years to build into a varsity program. I and many hope there is no truth to these rumors. Coach McMillan has the loyalty of his players and is a great coach. His leaving would be a huge loss for Gibson Co.

It's not like they don't have a pretty good back up in their assistant coach. If he leaves, they won't miss a beat with David Russell.

The McMillan's will be at Gibson Co. next year. I was told that this coming year is the last year on Coach Tansil-Gentry's contract with UTM. I'd bet that if there isn't a drastic change within the next year at UTM that you might see Coach McMillan at UTM the year after next. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I do know for sure that Coach McMillan is wanting to get back to the college level though. HMMM!!!!!!! I thought I had heard all of this before....like Yogi said "it seemed like Deja Vu all over again"....Oh yea, that was me way back in March trying to tell all of you that Tansil-Gentry was done....but no one especially the D's and GC Pioneer would even hear of it......you had to be blinded or at least wearing columbia blue and red glasses not to see this one coming........hate to say I told you so, but......

My bet is that if McMillan wants to coach at UTM, then he will be there. Rumors are that he wants it. ANd, if he wants it, and UTM doesnt hire him, then they are crazy. If he went there, and recruited mostly local talent, UTM could have a good program like Union U.
