Im just excited that we kicked two extra points and thru a touchdown pass. :bored:

Good point. This DB team is getting better as the season goes. Just like everyone said.

Extra points!!!

Well it isn't all a wash out. You all are in 6th...Crockett just beat Volunteer which puts their record ahead of you...but in all fairness you did have 3 (well 4) tougher games than Crockett's other win. Positive, think positive.

I hope Coach Clark apologized again after the game because this is the first loss in a long time where I put it on him. Roop threw the pick that lead to the winning TD, but there is no way on God's green earth we should have put another ball in the air at that point. Second down, 8:00 to go in the game, with the lead and all the momentum, on their side of the field. With a QB that we know we need to be very careful with because he has been consistently inconsistent and often wild, including tonight (it's not like we should have been drunk with success after the nice throw to Seabolt for the go-ahead TD as we had already gotten the ball back once and stunk it up again on O, and exchanged punts with Boone). All we needed to do at that point was run a couple more plays and some time off the clock, and either go for it on 4th down if we're close, or punt and let the D take over with Boone either backed way up or on the 20 at worst with say 6:00 to go. And Boone had not driven the length of the field on our D all night. Instead we throw an utterly horrible pick and self-destruct for the second week in a row, against a team that looked to be better only than Central out of the teams we've played thus far. Not a bad team, but a mediocre/decent team with a scrappy defense, decent running game and not much passing game. But give them credit for taking advantage of what we gave them, just like Sevier Co. did.

We are so limited on offense that we simply cannot make mistakes and beat any half-decent team. And we made mistakes aplenty. How many procedure penalties did we have, 6? 8? And poor Chris is out there busting his butt only to find flags for holding all over the place after his best runs. And of course the ultimate killer was the turnovers, which lead to all of Boone's points. The sad thing is that while this team is clearly down on talent compared to what we're used to, it would still have a couple more wins if it only could quit shooting itself in the foot.

But the band sure did look good. :bored:

Did CS play?

Yes pretty well held in check in most of 1st half. Couple really big runs brought back on holding plays. Yes holding plays evident by the number of them we have ran this year.

Holding and INT's sealed the deal for sure. His biggest play was an out pattern. Seabolt has elevated his game. 40 played good as well.

But all in all Boone got the job done. They played hard, hit hard and capitalized on the ops presented to them.

Tough night at the Fred for the Tribe.

Hey, before everybody gets all bent out of shape just remember, we lost to the top two teams in the state. We will improve as the season goes along. Our guys are working hard in practice and the coaching staff will have them ready to go. Besides these conference games don't even count. When do we play Central again? :bored:

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
