I've only seen LV twice, once in 07 and once in 05.

They seemed to have athletes both times, but they just couldn't get it together, especially in 05.

In 07, they had some outstanding athletes, especially Scruggs. IMO, when you have a back like Scruggs, you don't stick him at wingback. A WB is not normally a feature back. I'd like to have seen him in the offense they run now.

Lookout Valley is not great but they have quite a bit of speed and are probably one of the 10 or 15 best 1A teams this year. I believe SP was winning by 50 at the half against them but not positive on that. I remember it being a 50 point game before they scored on SP.

It was 45-0 at half.

Everyone talks about LV having quite a bit of speed.

A well disciplined defense can contain speed. I think we'll be alright.

Our head coach is more of a defensive minded coach, and some may call it overanalyzing but he'll watch film all weekend and never leave the Coach's office, and he'll figure out most of what the other team will do. Then the hard part is getting the kids to make the plays.

If Marion runs the same offense as they ran last year, Gville's is similar to it, and I can't even describe their defense. All I can tell you is it's based off of a 50.

Marion runs a similar version of what they ran last year, but they have changed more to a split back veer. Lookout Valley had no clue how to stop the outside veer thursday night as it seemed that they sold out to stop the inside. Marion runs the same defense also it seems so I will say G'ville by 2tds at least. :popcorneater:

Tigers to get the w.

Hey Croz....just beat LookoutValley and then go to MTCS and show them why they shouldn't been there in the 2nd week. We (FCS) played them the first game of the season and was up by 30 with time left on the clock in the 1st qtr. All you have to do is hit them boys and they cough it up. After we hit them a few times none of them wanted the ball........And I know yall have some hard knockers on Defense.....

Go Gmen...........

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
