truthandjustice
I heard from a reliable source that the "Lead Custodian" at LMS will be named the head football coach at LHS. You guys crack me up with this Middle school coach.
graider1976
Boy, I sure do feel for that Capella guy knowing that he lost his wife to cancer a year ago, and he is getting all of this attention hear on the T. In regards to Walter applying for the position (LMS janitor), that is unconfirmed but he would be a heck of an old ball coach. He might have just replaced Coach Duggin as the dark horse for this opening. I just got word from Peter King that Shadowens is out. So to round out the top three in no particular order here we go 1. Walter the LMS janitor (at least the 'Rines bathrooms wouldn't smell like death) 2. Dwight Yoakum (a dark horse, but he can sing the national anthem like noone else) 3. George W. Bush (his fuzzy math might just mean a playoff birth) So far thats it. I'll keep y'all posted
workinprogress
I have nothing against middle school coaches. However I would think that there would be more than enough quality high school assistants that would be interested in this job. I would think that Aric would apply. Maybe he and Hester could just switch positions. Maybe the guy from FC Lee Atkins.
graider1976
Obviously this post was in jest, but in all honesty Coach Hester has done a fine job with the 'Rines during his tenure. I wish the best of luck to whomever is awarded the position.
nrgrizzlies
Obviously this post was in jest, but in all honesty Coach Hester has done a fine job with the 'Rines during his tenure. I wish the best of luck to whomever is awarded the position. Whoever gets the gig (and I hope he is reading this) - needs to (A) keep coach Grooms and ( if Phillip Williamson is really moving to North Carolina, needs to get basketball player Adrian Mahin to suit up at WR to take his place. He is about the same size and a very smart athletic kid who could learn a new sport quickly.
bamaj
NO! (A) whoever gets this job needs to be able to bring in their own staff. This group of assistants have never shown the ability to evaluate nor develop talent. Which brings me to ( Start winning and we wont have to talk any player into playing here! Lavergne has and always will have better athletes than smyrna, but they go there and get COACHED! (21 out of 22) step it up Melvin!
nrgrizzlies
Not to be too short sighted, but then (A) do you end up with a 9th grader, maybe a lady driver's ed teacher's son, throwing passes to ( not Terry Hodges or Phillip Williamson or Kevin Moore who will all be gone then? I know rebuilding a program takes longer than one year but if you saw how few people were going to games the last half of the season, money-wise and morale-wise wouldn't it be important to compete NOW and put fannies in seats and $$ in the program? ...btw...not to diss the potential incoming QB, he has a monster arm for an 8th grader - he throws it like former NFL QB Bernie Kosar {good} and runs just like former NFL QB Bernie Kosar {not good}
bamaj
this speaks exactly to my point-evaluating and developing talent!! thanks nrgrizzlies
atrain1488
Will they look outside the box or will it be someone in the system?
nrgrizzlies
Grooms should get consideration imho. Who actually decides anyway? Melvin Daniels? Gary Miller? Both?
wingman10
Would Carson l want to come back?
bamaj
It "should" be from someone outside, but Daniels has a history of hiring within. I just dont see anyone left on that staff thats head coach material at this level. It should be an attractive job if Daniels ever even gets around to posting it.
