Mose and Law from the Creek resigned. Mose accepted a position at HuntersLane. Law left for personal reasons. Its in both local papers. Speculation in the papers was that Law resigned over the incident after the Pearl Cohn game.

As for the La Vergne position its obviously not Mose. Thompson is still the logical choice if its a metro coach.

I was just reading the HuntersLane board and it seems as if Armstrong and Elrod were both mentioned as possibilities of coming along with the new coach. Armstrong I am assuming is Doris (not sure on the spelling.) And of course if somehow Elrod were to come in you could look to see another wing-t hybrid team in Rutherford County. I know you all would hate that!!! Could be real interesting to see what all happens. If it is Thompson he will need some good help in my opinion. Elrod would be a great choice.

Sad part is that Melvin is an ex coach himself, and should know how this delay in naming a coach is going to cost this team's progress.

How much progress could have been made last week? Between teacher's in-service day and snow there was almost no school?

I think big questions loom such as:

Does the strength coach stay (along with his son, the best athlete in the school)

and

Can a new coach get guys such as hoops power forward Adrian Mahin in pads and a helmet.

I think you misread that HL thread.......I think Elrod has simply retired!

I also suspect Armstrong would stay at Maplewood; he is probably real reason for Maplewood's recent success.

    • Why? Low pay. Low budget thanks to the Rotary milking the programs revenue. Foul smell. There are other negative things... Positives: the players and being toward the top of the classification numbers wise.
    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
