If alcoa is that good, move up!! Open zone schools have an advantage and now your yawning at the competition. Go figure...

CAK Fan ^^^^^^^

I'm not cakfan and don't keep up with all of his/her posts.

Well maybe you should.

What I noticed was, in a thread NOT about CAK,

See above....

piled on footballdad, whom I've never seen cast any "stones" at Alcoa.

Maybe just small pebbles...But he too has issues with the F5 at this time and has chosen to post those thoughts on the appropriate thread, as he should.

Pluto, though I think they've even decided it's not really a planet anymore. I'm not cakfan and don't keep up with all of his/her posts. What I noticed was, in a thread NOT about CAK, you first taking a sideswipe at CAK's strength of schedule, implying that CAK's chances of beating Alcoa's 95 players (only a few of whom are out of zone I've been told) with CAK's 55 players (including freshmen and no "out of zone" players) might be better if CAK played a tougher non-district schedule. Don't know what that has to do with Alcoa vs. Stone Memorial--was apparently just an opportunity to take a shot at CAK that couldn't be passed up. Then, another Alcoa fan (apparently) named bcsportsfan followed your lead and piled on--piled on footballdad, whom I've never seen cast any "stones" at Alcoa. So, the planet I live on is one where people who don't deserve cheap shots don't get cheap shots taken at them. As the kids say these days...just sayin'.

How about Alcoa request to move up to 5A so they can play Bearden, Farragut and that bunch then

Really? So you are saying that we will not do as well with the "big boys"? We have already beaten Maryville two years in a row. Maryville beat Bearden earlier this season and will beat Farragut this Friday night by 21. Maryville will be in Cookeville this year fighting for the 6A championship. Oh yeah, we scrimmaged both Farragut and Oak Ridge in the preseason and beat both with ease. So tell me again what your proposed move will prove?

If you're trying to make the point that CAK's non-district games are not very tough then I would agree. But I don't think there is much that a tougher non-district schedule would do for us at this point to help us make a "run" in the playoffs. That would suggest that those tougher games would somehow have enabled CAK to beat Alcoa in round 2 the past several years. Given the limited number of players CAK has (54 including freshmen) and that not very many of them have the DNA makeup of your typical football player, I would suggest that a tougher schedule would simply get the Warriors more beat up and therefore less capable to compete.

And the winner of the 2010 BOH Liar's Club Lou Holtz "Poor Mouth" of the Year Award...CAK's Football Dad!

Seriously, to say CAK's players do not have the DNA is just not true. If your 54 players really includes freshmen as you indicate, then your real issue is depth. Not DNA. That or Quinn is the best darn converted tuba player I have ever seen! :roflol:

Bad announcers are annoying, and you would think they would know how to pronounce the name of the guy who has had almost 600 yards against them in their last two meetings, but I dont think terryl lost any sleep over the mispronunciation. It was a nice turnout last Friday though. A full house is always good site to see especially because all the money a 4000 person gate and associated buying brings to a program that does not get great funding from the county and community.

I agree completely. A tougher non-conference schedule would simply get CAK more nicked and dinged up. It seems to me that his observation about CAK's non-district schedule was simply another attempt to make CAK fans feel less positive about what their football program has been able to accomplish. With all the success that Alcoa has had, I simply do not understand the compulsion some (not all) of Alcoa's fans feel to deride, denigrate or otherwise rain on the relatively smaller parades of other teams and their fans. I'll say it loud and clear for all the world to hear--Alcoa is THE HS football program in TN; its players are football demi-gods, with so much more natural talent than any other team's players, and they work so much harder, and their coaches are so much smarter. We all pale in comparison, and we realize that and have come to grips with it. But that's not enough for some of you Alcoa fans--no, you have to rub salt in the wound by belittling CAK's schedule. Is that the way you would want to be treated if the shoe were on your foot?

Great post, and dead on. I think ol paint has been sniffing his own paint. I used to enjoy his post, and found most of them pretty funny. Now, he seems only to be able to insult the 15 to 18 year old kids PLAYING the game by insulting the schools football program. I find it kinda sad that a grown man takes so much enjoyment belittling other schools, he acts as though he has some hand in Alcoa's winning ways over the past ten years, we all know that he has never touched the field in that time frame. Like I said before, all programs go thru cycles, right now Alcoa's at the top, but nothing last forever in high school football.

Shooter I will tel you just like I told FBD and the rest of you CAK fans. There is already a thread open for that, take that garbage there. Maybe if CAK would step up their non conference schedule they would be better prepared for a playoff run.

And tell me again, how this is belittling? :popcorneater:

And Cat, your thoughts really have no effect on me. I was with the F5 long before there was a CoachT. It is gonna get worse before it gets better.

You need to put your focus back on the Ridgers now. They need your help more than anyone that Alcoa plays does.
