I will try and make this short,but since this thread is slow maybe some of the old timers can fill in some of what they remember.Alcoa fans are comparing past champions and i felt like the 77-79 teams

Thank you MrTwister for your kind comments. But I'll keep this directed towards the Tornadoes, after all, it is your party tonight. Alcoa deserves all the accolades they get. It seems almost unfair

He can rest right beside courtland finnegan because he just got schooled :oops:

i got some for you too roscoe if want to step up and take his place...you boys need to get back to talking about football cause im distributing my shoe leather all over yr rear ends!!!

I saw them there too. I see them every time the doors are opened. (I'm not sure if they are zoned for that church though)

This is the funniest post I've seen, I don't care whether you're a hater or not. I hate that I will miss BOH on Friday, but I am going to Cookeville on Thursday. I know a real good meat and three there.

Let me ask you Alcoa people a question. Is that Rankin man taking those Alcoa boys up to Cookeville on Thursday for their championship game? Grider is taking our boys up their Thursday and I am afraid we are going to lose our game. This is a bunch of mess. Will Rankin have a person to watch these boys if he takes them up their on Thursday so they will not be out partying?

Im willing to bed Alcoa wont get up there until Friday. Probably early around 10ish if I had to guess. Time enough for lunch and to get their minds set. However, even under the loosest discipline head coach at Alcoa, The Tornadoes didnt run around partying the night away before ball games. They were in their rooms, lights out and asleep by 10pm

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
