BCsportsfan
Danny Wilson when he was at Heritage. Joel Helton was another who beat GQ twice. Don Woods beat GQ twice. There hasn't been many beat GQ twice. I wasn't badmouthing Alcoa. I was just talking from a Maryville fans perspective about Alcoa. When everyone said Maryville played an easy schedule I would bring up Alcoa and everyone would say they were just a litlle ole 2A school. With GQ as Head coach? smeagle1
The smell of "The Boogie Man"? Ha! The smell of win anyway you can. Alcoa spends almost $6000 per student yet charges only $500 for tuition. How does that work out? Guess you heavily limit the number of tuition students. So how many students paying tuition are playing sports?
REBELRON
Wilson beat GQ in 1999 and 2000. Helton led Central teams beat Maryville in 1999 quarterfinals then lost in 1999 4A Title game. Central beat Maryville in 2000. That was part of Maryville's 0-4 start in 2000.

THAT must be why Heritage kept Maryville on the schedule and dropped Alcoa.

snoball5278
Winning 1A state titles and you start trying to talk about ladyball If that was a Knock on my education then so be it. I graduated with honors from both Greeneville and UT so suck on that old goat You can only put 11 on the field at a time just like any other team lol....I was just messing with snoball since he thinks platooning is ladyball and seems to love Signal Mountain as much as the WaterBoy. He should be happy Signal Mountain had to move up. your best 11 couldn't keep up with our best 11 for 48 minutes. they'd be checking out and sucking wind, like lil girls, half way through the 3rd. we'd win by 2 tds based on endurance alone. if you had spent any of that education studying the comprehension of the english language, instead of focusing your attentions to the study of dance, you wouldn't confuse my lampooning of greeneville for an exhalting of sissy mountain. why would i complain about them leaving? they were fortunate to get past us and we had a team half their size and lost our stud in the 2nd quarter. GvilleDevilsFan
Barb is right. Signal Mountain could go 15-0 and win 4A but people will always say "You dodged Alcoa" Funny thing is Alcoa beats Maryville a few times all of a sudden they are the biggest bada-- in Tennessee High School Football. But! When Maryville was beating Alcoa all these years Alcoa was just a little 2A school. The truth is Alcoa has been really good since 2004. I agree with that. Unless the trend continues, I will still consider Maryville as the elite program in the state. That isn’t an insult to Alcoa at all, but Maryville has done it against better competition.
