The score of the Greenfield game with Dresden could've been worse....Greenfield missed enough free throws to be at least a 20 point win...I bet that the Lady Jackets didnt even hit 50% from the line...and, that's something that they'd better improve on if they want to make any kind of serious run come tourney time....

Also, in case a lot of people dont know about our coach, it seems to me that Coach T approaches the regular season as one big practice session. He's been known to have multiple starting line ups thru out the season. He's been known to play a lot of girls at the beginning of the season. But, when it gets close to tourney time, then he settles in on a starting 5, and he settles in on 3 players coming off the bench. It's almost like he's playing the whole regular season to just get ready for the tournaments, and doesnt really care about having the best record, etc. I will say that he seems to really go after district wins, though. And, this is the way he coaches baseball, as well.

So, I'm saying all that to say that I'd be very surprised to ever see Greenfield have a 1 or 2 loss season under him, and I'd be even more shocked to see an undefeated season under Coach T. It's just the way he does his coaching thing....you know.

I agree the score could have been worse, but Dresden played awful. However, Greenfield did not dominate with Dresden playing so bad. Dresden had multiple opportunities to score close and missed easy shots. I also think Greenfield played with a little more energy. Afterall Dresden did end their season last year and they were out for some payback. Jacket fans don't get too worked up because last season ya'll hammeredd Dresden the first game and got beat the next two. I will take Dresden fron here on out against the Jackets. Players on the bench don't really matter. You cab have a roster of 20 kids, but players are what matters. like you said you only pplay 7 to 8 anyway and that is all Dresden needs andn has had the last 3 to 4 years. It hasn't hurt them yet and ya'll all know this because you have been in the stands watchin gthem play in the region. :roflol::thumb::popcorneater:

I havent seen Bradford but have seen Lake Co.,Union City and Greenfield.Still going with Lake Co but Grrenfield in my opinion is better than Union City and will push Lake Co for the top spot. Was very impressed with #40,believe it's Mullins,#13 looked good and number 21 is a shooter.Looks like to me ,have to play tight on #40 and make sure someone is on #21 on a kick out. Also impressed with the point guard and #22 that I saw was a freshman.Good looking team.Spacing was good on offense but what I like is their quickness on defense overall.Going to be able to run with Lake Co.I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Lake Co and Greenfield will be the likeliest teams to make it to the Boro on our end.But again.I havent seen Bradford but I'm going with Lake Co and Greenfield both over Union City .

Really thought Greenfield would be down afyer losing Jordan Gailey but I thought the overall balance of this team is better.Last year it was mostly Jordan with occassional help from Mullins and the others.Looks like Mullins has steppes up her game along with #21.Lake Co is going to have to play well to beat Greenfield. If Bradford is improved, and I know how good Street is and along with Union City.Going to ba a tough district along with South Fulton.Havent seen Trenton yet though or Halls but am expecting them to be at the bottom this year.

Bradford can play with anyone in the state when they are making their shots. They are a small team, but they are fast. they also love to run. when you play them it will be a track meet. It all depends on if they are hitting the 3 ball. They shoot the 3 quite often. It will be fun to watch. Bradford was suppose to be rebuilding last year and fell one game short of the boro. they are a better team this year, and should be even better next year.

Should be some interesting games.I was really impressed with Greenfield. Some of the games in the district could come down to who is officiating.I can see T. T. and the Mullins girl from Greenfield being on the bench if Jesse Ashley and Tommy Sewell is officiating.Especially Jessie.I think the only thing he knows is a charge sign.Mullins likes to back in and see see a player flopping back and getting a call.Same with T.T.Any time she goes to the basket,Jessie will call a charger even if a girl is late getting there.I watched him in the Greenfield-Munford game and it's all he knows. But again.Looks to be some great games.T.t. is just going to have to stop and shoot a little jumper.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
