Was it that Blevins boy that hit him. He was hitting real hard at that game

It was Chubb, #15. It wasn't some big hit like many think it was. It was just a helmet to helmet hit and he got his bell rung. Put it this way...I've seen A LOT harder and bigger hits and the players walk away without a scratch.

Lankford got nailed about 3 times Friday that could have gone badly for us. The week before, Johnson got nailed by one of his own guys on defense because the receiver was slow to get there. That rang his bell pretty good but seemed to shake it off. It happens and sometimes guys get hurt badly and nothing obvious happens.

South Pitt will be tough again but they will have to have some linemen step in and I'm sure that they have got those in the works. Coalfield should be tough but they have to have cooler heads next year. Greenback could possibly be as good as any of them they lose 5 seniors but and this is HUGE they have to develop a QB if they do they may shock everybody. Ask SP they definitely were not expecting them to be as good as they were, But until somebody beats them South Pitt is the team to beat!! Just Like Maryville is the team to beat in 6a until they are dethroned!!

I agree matback,QB is the question.Offensive line could possible be one of if not the best they have had in 20yrs!Skill positions are going to be fast and very very good.

What is scary is that Coalfield, Greenback, SP and Gordonsville could endup in Quad 1 next year unless some of the eastern teams step up like Cloudland, Harriman, Copper Hill and Sundown.

Team to beat 2010: SP

Team to beat 2011: SP

Team to beat 2012: SP

Even if WC pulls off a win this year, they lose a lot of people. That means G.V. may be the roadblock again.

I love how all south pitt people think there team is the greatest thing ever, but guess what? they are just high school kids like all the other players in high school playing, and until players realize this and just play, bully teams like south pitt will always be the greatest.

My statement was in the context of last year and this year going into next year. Your bully contents are bovine fertilizer. You are correct that this is about young men playing the game. In 1a and 2a, these teams often come from small towns. SP for example have young men on the team that their dads, grandfathers and great grandfathers played on, and it has created continuity steeped in tradition. You are out of line calling these young mean bullies for being successful. But guess what, you are just a bitter individual. If you don't like competitive sports, take a walk and get into hat band weaving.

He answered a question and gave his opinion. Give yours if you want too. This is a MESSAGE BAORD.

    • What you are saying is true about high school athletics being a privilege and not a right, but NO ONE ever knows what will happen if a case goes before a jury.  Again, I have been in a couple of jury rooms and it's always a little crazy.  That is why my prediction is you will see a settlement before the case goes to trial.
    • What rules does everyone not operate by?
    • So you want a have and have not split? Sound like the perfect ramp to elitism. Tell those rural kids that they'll never be able to compete with those urban kids. They're not good enough right? Or we could just do what travel baseball does and have tournaments every weekend and give kids big fake rings for winning a few games. The suburban public schools are typically the ones with more funds. Urban and rural schools have more in common in finances than they do with rural schools. I've taught and coached in all of it. The difference is attitude. But if you're jsut going to say you can't compete because you don't have the money then that's an excuse. Especially in basketball. The balls are the same size, the rims are the same height and size. The ball dribbles the same in some rural gym in mountains as it does in the FedEx forum. Charters come and go like a fart in the wind. They are no real threat to anyone. Magnets could be but rarely do they win either. It just hasn't been seen in Tennessee.
    • That’s a good line. Wins would be Soddy, Howard, and Ooltewah. Maybe East Ham again or Knox Central. Tyner maybe but being that late in the year it’s hard to say. I don’t think we get by Red Bank this year.    Rhea could be anywhere from 2-8 to 6-4.
    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
