IF THE PIRATES ARE TO BRING HOME THE BACON

Old Pirate says the Pirates need all hands on deck and all the gun powder theys can muster.

OFFENSIVE KEYS: RBs Lankford & Johnson need to be blocking for each other, as well as the QB. Lankford was hit late (speared but was not called) early in the GV game after he was obviously on the ground after fielding a short kick off. Johnson appeared to have regained his mobility after being slowed by a leg injury. QB needs to find his groove early and guide the offense. Stone needs to be able to have good reads and throw the ball on time while delivering a catchable ball. WRs Chubb,Johnson and Allens need to run good routes and make catches before they attempt to run. Chubb could be a huge difference if he is able to be close to 100%. Johnson needs to be able to show the dependable hands he showed last year. Matt & Micheal Allen need to be a force as their catches could be game changing. OL need to show they can get it done in the trenches.TEs need to provide steady blocking and make the few catches that come their way.

Your delusional then! You can take your army of ewoks all day...:roflolk: I'm sure most outside of TC would see things a tad different....Btw did any of those guys get offers or go to College? I don't remember but since they were so great I would think thy would have or atleast have some records....Help me out here I'm drowning in my own knowledge

You and Seven have alot to brag about anyone and everyone as long as they wear that purple but your not always right just like saying Gordonsville would beat us last two years....Didn't happen...Grider has learned a thing or two since the 98 debacle on the Creekbank....He just didn't show it in 2008

I remember Sam telling me you guys talked a big game about the Harper when played....That guy wouldve been our Star Booger Team back of he had played with us...

delusional he says, yeah tt played colllege ball, can't tell you where off the top of my head. you have alot to brag about anyone and everyone that wears the black and orange, but that's cool, until someone else supports their team, right. :roflol:

seven and i never said gordonsville would beat sp, we may have rooted for them but we never said they would. you pulled that out of the air, like you do with most of your "facts."

"learned his lesson in 98... he just didn't show it in 2008." i'll let that comment stand of it's own merit. :roflolk:

different harper, you've lost all your facts, but also a midstate 1st teamer, preseason all-state. that last comment plays perfectly to the way i described you. no one at sp with a lick of sense would say that if a 3a mr. football finalist played at sp he would only be a booger team back up, except traintracks. delusional indeed.

Last year mountain troll from signal Mtn had a tent set up above visitors parking. Jo bryns filled that parking lot and it looked like a sea of red! Great people and fans! Moto was a good sport before and after! So let's all just meet in that lot somewhere. I will be there by 10 cst.

Won't have my party set up this year, since that Childress boy choked my chickens.

choke-your-chicken-lg.jpg

But I'll be there all three days. Goin' in style this year. Gonna hang in the warm, dry BCBST skybox most the time, but will be makin' frequent trips to the parking lot for all the extracurricular activities.:thumb:

um yes, don't let fear dictate your life. he wasn't and that was before 1a was as watered down as today and he didn't have another back in the backfield with him that defenses were keying on either. swing and a miss indeed, if we are gauging everyone by your facts, then this kid has already eclipsed the great eddie moore, and as a soph no less!! crown him, he could never play another snap and he's the bench mark, in your opinion fact. :roflolk:

Best as a Sophomore to ever come through the school...Your wrong about the competition though as we didn't play many 1A schools except in the playoffs...The road to the award has been against stiffer competition than any other back can claim that's been through this school...Our schedule this year was really tough especially with our injuries and the whole sharing time thing is wrong as Johnson was hurt 3-4 games and also played WR mostly in a few more...Lankford was riding Solo majority of the year but good try

That's interesting!? I believe that is the first time that you have mentioned another player on our team other than a Rice. I'm glad, even if it was for just two sentences. Now, if we could just get jtown28 to come along?!

I believe i have gave everybody credit! This is team and 1 of the best that i have seen come through Wayne County. The playmakers on Wayne Co. team would have to be #19 #4 #10 #42 but i just feel Austin is what makes them go. I also want to say that Wayne Co. is not going to come into this game thinking they are going to be over matched by SP. Coach Rice will not let that happen and the thing about it is that they are not. Wayne Co is just as good as SP and everybody from SP will see that Friday. If i am wrong i will eat my crow after the game.

Keys to the game.

Wayne Co. just do what you do.

Control the clock

Take care of the ball like you have all season (except against CA)

Get up early

But if we don't, don't panic keep running the ball and everything will work it's way out.

Defense play like you have all season.

Don't let SP ge the edge

Make SP throw the ball

TT did say early in the thread that he didn't think SP would beat GV though. :roflol:

flustered enough to post twice. :roflol: nice edit.

valley footbal has been on the decline for years, 3-4 games isn't a majority either and he still had a decoy. try harder. :thumb:

Cody Walker was a freshman at SP but left after that. Zalmer Chubb was a sophomore and rotated with Ronto Tipton in 1980. Chubb also rotated as a freshman in 1979. Grider sent the plays in with a pair of Tailbacks and fullbacks. I am not trying to compare Chubb or Walker to Lankford but just pointing out SP has had some prodigies at Tailback before. They don't come around often but it happens.

    • Yes region 1 is extremely weak but a # 5 seed out of region 2 has no business in the playoffs either.
    • They've had some great talent over the years. They usually don't whip no one but can be tough to stop on offence.
    • Could be a lot of reason from what I’ve seen so far.  The lights wouldn’t turn on at Smyrna last night and had to move games to Blackman could be a reason or maybe he is talking about how on some of the games on NFHS network the camera placement was absolutely asinine. ( had a camera set up right in front of a net and couldn’t see crap)
    • If Gordonsville can manage getting through these next 2 games without using him it will be ideal. ER was the last team to not have to pitch their #1 till the state championship i believe. Worked out well for them but they also had one of the best 1A staffs of all time that year. Only allowed one run the whole tournament and it was in the 7th inning.
    • And he’s not even their #1. Lights out performance. Gordonsville is in the drivers seat with their #1 arm available throughout the tournament.
