Cougars lose 4-1 to Forrest, Eagleville beats Moore 10-2 (I think). Cascade beats community 2-1. Rematches today.

Eagleville comes out very flat and non-motivated to face a Moore County team and falls flat on their face. Poor hitting majority of the game. Game was tied going into 7th inning. Eagleville had Moore Co. down to their last strike to close the inning and leaves a pitch up in the zone the result of which was a 2 run walkoff home run. Pitcher should've never been in that spot. No offensive support from a team loaded with hitters.

Any update on the Cascade/Community game for today. I'm hearing that Cascade got beat but have no confirmation. Can anyone confirm. This is for the game today 4/10. Thanks

Community beats Cascade 4-1.

 

Baseball is a great game. One pitch can make a big difference and cause a less talented team to win.

 

Sometimes a loss refocuses a team. Still some good baseball to play down the stretch.

Cougars play Nashville Christian today, Cannon County tomorrow.

In the "every win is a good win" category, MTCS gets the W vs Nashville Christian. Subpar effort, nice results.

Eagleville turned in a solid performance against Summertown last night with a 9-0 win. In the second game which was technically a varsity game Coach Moore put in all the younger boys and they had a several errors and they ended up losing 10-3 I believe, was too cold and in a hurry to get to the truck to remember the exact score.

Depending on the weather may get a 9A Rutherford county rivalry game in today. Eagleville has been to the state tourney with the core of their players (two years in a row?) and, if memory serves from an earlier post, have 4 guys going on to play college ball next year. Cougars don't have that type of pedigree but have turned in a few solid games this year.

 

Smith has never lost to MTCS that I can remember and I look for him to go the whole way if the game is close. Cougars must play good defense to have a shot in this one. Need a low scoring affair where anything can happen in the late innings.

Community beats Huntland 5-3. Forrest beats Cascade 5-4. Seems like 5 was a magic number for winning teams yesterday. Rematches today.
