District 9A

Eagleville is currently finding ways to loose as opposed to finding ways to win. Lackluster effort and need to use their heads at the plate. Time to make a struggling pitcher earn it and watch a few pitches and to swing the bat when a pitcher is on and hitting his spots. Leaving a runner on third that reached there with no outs should be unacceptable. I've seen more fire using a flint in a downpour. Rise up boys.

I think many teams, including ours, are hitting a mid-season lull. Hard for any team to stay at their best all season. From all I've heard on E- ville & seen of Cascade they should both make runs toward the Boro and the Gold. If you have 2 quality starters and solid d behind them- it allows most 1A teams to compete in region & substate games with the current playoff format. The state tournament tests your pitching depth 2-4.

Very true. E'ville is just a click off right now. I didn't get to make the game today, only game this season I've missed and one of the ones I wanted to see the most. From the report I got both teams hit the ball ok but a couple of the boys from FC had back to back jacks and E'ville had one rough inning on defense. Who did FC pitch? I think if E'ville gets things back on track that these guys could see each other again in May.

Eagleville wins over Community

Cascade wins over Moore County

MTCS wins over Huntland

Game 2 of each today. Looks like Eagleville and Forrest are likely to finish #1 and 2; cascade is likely to finish #3; Huntland locked in at #7. 4,5,6 will be between Moore county, community and MTCS. All currently 4-5. I think #4 will host first game of playoffs. The rest is supposed to be at #1 home site.

How is the District tournament set up? Pitching is always the key. Eagleville and Cascade are the only two who have enough to win a tournament. Set up of games is crucial for others to have a chance.

1st seed will receive a 1st round bye and will host the tournament following that round I believe.

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
