Carnation Hart at Lake County may not be the best true post player, but she is probably the toughest. Not much height but will make those true posts look stupid. Will swat your stuff and then take the rebound and blow by you to the other basket. Runs like a jackrabbit and is as strong as any single a player in the state. Signed with Bethel and is part of the dynamic duo of Hart and Flowers that have given the Lady Falcons that number one ranking.

Hard to argue against the Hensley girl from Jackson County. If you want a true post she's got everything you need. Great size, good hands, effective scoring from the elbow in, and best shot-blocker in the state.

Makenzie has came a long way from last year. She has improved every aspect of her game. As far as the shot blocking, I witnessed her block 12 shots against Pickett Co last year, and she has picked up where she left off this year with less opportunities as less people have been even attempting to shoot around her this year. Also congrats for Makenzie Hensley being named district 7-A first team today.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
