SP Pirates

Recommended Posts

Actually, I am a scientist so I could care less if ignorant west TN hillbillies can read and write. As far as Nebraska goes, I don't like them either. We call them the Corn Hos. When you come into an SP thread shooting your mouth off, you are going to get > nutkick.gif

Edit: Had you known about Lodge Skillets and the Black Shirts, you would have got the earlier post and realized it was just a quip. SP wears black at home. And Nebraska is famuous for corn and football. SP is known for skillets and football.

Well I guess I took your post as being a wise crack and Im man enough to admitt I was wrong. So I guess showed alot of arrogance myself. As OP pointed out we(UC) can be the same. As to the post that got all this started I was curious about the Cornbread Capitol satement. Now I know. So.... these are good ole cast iron skillets Right? can you buy them at the factory? I have family who live in Dunlap and thought I might send over there to pick one up for me. I love to cook and you cant beat Cast iron for some good ole cornbread thats for sure. So rlh forgive my banter I jumped the gun on you and I apologise.

That's o.k. Most of us have a sense of humor. We are here for some fun and support these kids each year. Lodge still makes the good old cast iron like they have for over 100 years and they have some steel ones as well. Cracker Barrel sells some of their skillets. There is one poster that uses the "Corn Bread Capitol" line in nearly every post. He is the only one that uses that roflol.gif

Bradley Central, McMinn Central, Brainerd, Soddy Daisy, Hardin Valley....

According to my scoring, which could be wrong....

SP over Hardin Valley 1-0

SP over Soddy-Daisy 2-0

SP tied McMinn 1-1

SP tied Bradley 0-0

Red Zone:

SP tied Bradley 2-2

SP tied Brainerd 1-1

I started to put who did the scoring, but I don't want to reveal too much info.

As of right now the scrimmage is still on at Bledsoe. Not sure of the time, though. Probably 5:00.

PM, Old Pirate chatted with a few round the break room and the young Pirates look as if they could do some damage, if theys will continue to improve and the injury bug don't bite them. Rumor is the running game is again going to be hard to contain. The thing that gets OP's jock twisted is some of the best athletes don't or can't start both ways. Got OP scratching for sure, course it ain't jock etch neither. Leastways not until OP brings out the old...jock strap on the 1st Friday night of the season

Old Pirate, Seems a few had rather get up on Saturday and read their names in the paper than bust some heads on Friday night. Nothing wrong with making TD'S but the Gold Ball will be won with slobber knocking!

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
