And let's just say they win... Then where to? And then where to? The TSSAA is basically saying your not good enough to win so let's just get it over with and move on to othe teams we think will win. Do the right thing guys. You already screwed up once don't make it 2 times.

Sullivan South will probably go to tullahoma i think.

Justin Lamb of the Columbia Daily Herald is reporting Sullivan South is Columbia's first opponent. As crazy as it is, it is the best solution to the problem. Coaches have already traded and started working on game plans. No way you can shuffle the whole thing around.

If you fixed it like it should have been all 16 teams in quads 1& 2 would have new opponents. All are on equal footing. No one has an advantage. What's the big deal. We are 9 hrs. into a flawed process.

Sullivan South should not have to travel to Columbia. This mistake was made by the TSSAA and rules can not be overlooked to patch a mistake. They should redo the two quadrants immediately and fix the problem. I have been told that the TSSAA is willing to pay the travel expenses for Sullivan. No other school will receive this benefit and I'm sure Sullivan just wants it done right. Several schools will be effected by this but it is the right thing to do in fixing it. The system needs to be fixed so these mistakes are prevented from ever happening again. If this is allowed to stay as it is there is no intergity left with this oranization.

There is a lot of talking going on between coaches of schools in both quads tonight over this issue. It may or may not be over.

For those of you who don't have a dog in the hunt, let me just ask what you would want to happen if it were your school affected and your team and supporters were asked to travel 317 miles to a first round game, and then again a similar distance if you were fortunate enough to advance?

Lets look at the numbers.

Kickoff is at 7pm Central time. (Thats 8pm in Kingsport)

Teams normally wanna arrive 2 hours before kickoff.

5 hours 14 minutes according to google maps. Factor in the fact that they're taking a bus its probably closer to 6 hours.

That being said, if they drove straight through they'd have to leave at 11 central time. (noon in Kingsport) to get to Columbia 2 hours before kickoff. Like HTV said you also have to factor in lunch and a pregame meal, so that adds probably an hour and a half to travel time. So they'd probably have to leave at 10:30 am eastern time, and after sitting on a cramped bus for 7 hours go play a football game. Absolutely crazy.
