claw(low)ball,

To not to have anymore to say, you sure have said waaayyyyy too much about stuff that you have NO clue about, so you need to shut it! Ron Gray is one of the best coaches and people that I have ever had the pleasure to call my friend. He should have his chance to be a head coach whereever it is. He is definitely a guy that I would want coaching my son. If KC chooses Rankin, so be it. They maybe looking for a coach again in 2-3 years, but that's choices that the admin has to make.

I'm trying to remember the last time Rankin left a coaching job after "2-3 years" but I can't come up with a single time. Please enlighten me. As for RG, according to him he's turned down every good job in the state. My guess is that he's already turned down the Catholic job before it was even offered.

I am wrong about the 2-3 year thing. Talked to a buddy and he said GR wanted to work 7 more years. I thought he was older than he is. Sorry about that. RG has not turned down every good job in the state and I talk to him all the time and he has never said that to me. I just don't see him saying that, and I doubt that you talk to him that much so how would you know.

Tried to say this weeks back. Double dipping vs. working at Alcoa with retirement & half work day as assistant principle - don't like having to do all discipline.

Will turn around Catholic quicker then you can say WOOOOHOOOO! Draw retirement & get paid full salary at Cathloic and not have to worry bout assistant principles duties - he'll be gone quicker than Tommy Tubberville.

Obviously I'm exaggerating about "every" good job in the state but it seems odd to me that he supposedly has turned down all of these jobs. I'm not saying that he can't coach but my only problem with him is his need to tell everyone how good he is. That actually makes me wonder. He may get his shot at Catholic but my money is on Rankin.

That would be a little bit of a surprise given the applicants/interviewees with head coaching experience

Rankin always puts himself in a position that he can win, he is smart. With Catholic moving down, and everything he will have at his disposal, Catholic will be playing for a state title in two years.

I do know RG and I can't believe he would turn down either Bearden or Alcoa, then apply for Karns and not get hired. That makes no sense at all. Think about it. Turn down Alcoa and Bearden for an interview, not an offer, from Karns. KARNS! No way

Well obviously you don't know him that well. This is anything new either. That has been out for a while.

It will never be known how good a coach he is. he will never go anywhere that is not favorable to winning big. He left Riverdale for that reason.

    • The sandbagging begins… y’all made sure LV won’t be a problem by snagging 2 of their better players.
    • Partin left? I’ll be.
    • And yes, in 2010 Clary/Scott Monger got into it with a R’dale fan. Well, mostly Monger lol. I think the fan took a swing at him. It’s funny as all get out listening to it on the replay. Scott told the guy to sit his a** down. Lol. That wasn’t the only time SM got into it with an opposing team. Seems like he got into it with someone at William Blount one year. He was an OG lol
    • Nope, they knew lol. He was just one tough hombre. Played right up to near the end of the Powell game like that and we almost won. I think they beat us, 21-17. Was a valiant effort on his part though.
    • No, that was in 2010. We played them in the quarterfinals in ‘11 the year I’m talking about, but we got hammered 35-14. 2010 was a fun year though. Played Maryville in the semis and gave them a really tough game for the majority of that game, but their depth eventually wore OR down, 38-21. Bradley had a few awesome runs in that game. He was a stud. Nothing fancy, but like I said, a mini Tebow. Would keep that read option up the middle and pound that tater in there. He was hard to bring down. Probably went for 195 lbs, if that.
