0-8 in 4 years vs MARYVILLE will cause conflicting schedules...

Nice qoute....... Most Maryville fans that know anything at all about OR would know that's the very reason we want you on the schedule.

I'm also thankful that most Maryville fans win with class...... maybe you could learn from them.

Disagree, GREYRIDER. We actually wanted to keep y'all on the schedule. Blade scheduled ya'll so we would be able to play the best. Even OR's AD said as much. Y'alls open date and our open dates were conflicting. I personally would much rather lose to a team that's not in our district(Maryville) then i would an in district foe. Having Maryville on our schedule, even while losing only made our schedule look better. It only helped our strength of schedule and even helped us when the time rolled around for the playoffs to be played. From what i take from your post i am assuming you're saying we are scared to play Maryville? I think that is far from the case. If so, then i guess were afraid to play Hardin Valley, too since their not on our schedule anymore? :-/ lol

It was in the daily wipe in Oak Ridge yesterday.

Week

1 Farragut

2 Clinton*

3 Halls

4 McMinn Co*

5 Gibbs*

6 Campbell Co.

7 Karns*

8 Powell

9 Knox Central

10 Anderson Co.*

* denotes home game

Didn't know I was that good did Ya?

Notice Murvil and Harden Valley are gone, paper said Mullins said conflicting open dates were the reason. Mike said they tried a bunch of folks including DB, Science Hill and Bearden. Sounds like the old days when nobody wanted to play us, not the reason now I'm sure.

Another fine job by our AD. Drop the game your community wants, and add a game nobody wants. Mullins, your absolutley out of touch or just plain stupid. It's no more than a lack of effort on his part not getting this schedule better.

Mike Mullins is as big a part of the sports "culture" in Oak Ridge going down hill as the decline in enrollment. He has as much intelligence as hair.

Well, i know a few people in OR who feel the same way as you do 3Wiggle. I am starting to believe y'all may be right.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
