Looking more and more like weather will have an impact. However, the good news is that it appears most of the precipitation will likely have moved on by gametime (keeping my fingers crossed!) and then going to get pretty darn chilly after that. But we are down to about 58 hours before kickoff! Last full day of practice this afternoon! Ready for some football!!

Go Big RED!!!

I think our farm boys, duck hunters, and sauger fishermen will hold up well in the rapidly dropping temperatures and 90% chance of rain.  I hope Ridgeway can stay warm and toasty too.  They certainly aren't used to the weather up here in the North.  Maybe it won't start sleeting until they get here safely.

Weather calls for rain all day Friday 90% and 60% Friday night. If you're playing on a wet field, and running will be a priority..Advantage Ridgeway, for they have very good speed, and a plethora of backs! Wet footballs will also be a factor. Turnovers may decide this one..I sill say again..If Ridgeway wins the turnonver battle, I think HC flames out and Ridgeway advances!

I'll let our boys know you have little respect for their running talent and your suspicion of their propensity for turnovers.

Also, "flame out" suggests to me that a team has been succeeding with something other than talent, discipline, coaching strategy, heart, and overall competitiveness. "Flame out" does not apply to this scenario.

The rules were in place at the beginning of the year.  Change the rules if you don't like them.

Thats great, dont really care, I just gave my opinion.....lol

As far as this game is concerned, I believe it will be better than the 1st. It is always hard to beat a good team twice in 1 season, so we will have to see. I am gonna have to make it out to this 1, b/c when you have great athletes on the field crazy things can happen.....lol

AND how many different interpretations are there of the bible?; come on theres no way to know what conext he was using it in unless you ask him. RW is more athletic than HC concerning speed, agility, and those kind of skills, BUT that does not mean they will win (didnt help 1st time). I dont even know if I agree that rainy/muddy weather is an advantage to speed and agility type athletes, if anything it would seem to slow them down.....

Advantage Ridgeway? Seriously? I don't know how you come to this decision, but in case you don't remember they threw the ball about 90% of the time becasue we shut down their run almost completely. They may change things up and run the ball 90% of the time - which I hope they do - and surprise me, but I would say just the opposite. If rain is involved, it favors power not speed and agility. But one thing you are right on target about, the turnover battle is where its at - particulary in wet conditions!

Just when I thought this thread was dying, it heats back up. I agree with Kevin & Drew. Speed is negated some by sloppy field conditions. If it's raining during the game it definitely hurts the passing game for both teams. I expect a great game and think HC holds off a Ridgeway come back in the 4th quarter.

I'm surprised the NWS gives their opinion of who the weather favors in their reports. I'll have to pay more attention to that from now on.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
