Cutting through all the funny business now, is the new school a private school or county. If county wonder why they didn't just call it Kodak. Also how many kids will this new school take off Sevier County. Will this cause Sevier to have more freshmen teams with only twenty two players. If Sevier dropped down to 5-A over all of this there really isn't a major difference between 5 and 6A. There are just years that I have seen the better team was in 5-A. Maryville has proved that when they went to 6-A.

It will make a huge difference.. They might actually be able to win another state title if they drop to 5A. Edited by Governors91

County and yes 22 freshman probably about right. It will hurt for a while like pigeon forge did back in the early 2000. Still as long as the bears are iMac wins will be there for the taking. Historically sc is probably about a 6-4 7-3 type program. Brewer knew he benefited from the weak conference as far as wins go and I don't see that changing unless they get into a tougher league. Beating the Allstars will simply take a great night on the bears end and turnovers etc. from the Rebs that's on a good year.Down years the bears will get thumped by the bigger rosters with the occasional upset. Which is what it's all about.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
