Nothing but absolute respect for the Oneida Indians from this bulldog also. I have always admired that Lambert Defense. I agree with Pujo that regardless of what happens, both teams will be more prepared for the road ahead. I will say that we are a much improved team from last year but I also could no way predict a score on this game either. Both schools are proud small school communities that love friday night lights. Heck, this game is so big that Murphy Fair said on his radio show that he was coming to Hampton to watch this game!  Looking forward to hopefully a well played game from both squads.

Where in the world is Pujo and the rest of the Hampton gang? Not much of a response from them so far, I figured they'd be a little more rattle from Roane Mountain on this one.

Had Youth Club games at home today....9am till 9pm! Gotta love this game!

Oneida & Hampton will be a slogger fest and one to remember...Just glad it's at HHS!

wish I was there.  Watch out for the cannon across the street. Two most favorite teams ever slugging it out!  Ill go with TL's mean D holding th line late for a close Victory.  Hope both teams play hard and have fun.  cheers Amigos!

I understand that. It's a pretty good hike between Hampton & Oneida for sure. Anybody heard if the 2 are going to extend the series? I'm pretty sure this is the last meeting under the previous agreement.

Yep last year on the contract, but I'd love keeping you guys on the schedule. The worst thing is the travel. I'd also like playing later in the year, that heat last year was a little much. Our kids was killed by halftime, they were not prepared for that. We actually had a little trouble with the heat last night.

We actually handled the heat very well as did Rockwood. Very little cramping from either side, I was very surprised.

Its hard to get high school to understand the importance of hydration, its not just something you can do on gameday. Its alot like pouring water on a ducks back. We had some problems, maybe they learned something.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
