Cane Ridge is closer to Brentwood. You know as well as I do that they will stick some of those metros with Sumner no matter how much we protest. Terrible gates and no fan support.

Location would automatically put Hunters Lane. I would then assume Cane Ridge, Glencliff or Hillsboro. It will certainly be interesting.

Is Sevier County going to be 5A or 6A? I bet you hope SC doesn't have Maryville in Region anymore.

It dont matter who we play big dave bring em on. The allstars are good but its still more fun than blowing out bad teams to at least take on the good teams. Maryvile is not in our region by the way we play them because we want to.

Tip of the hat to the Smoky Bears. Not a lot of teams have that kind of nerve! Hope the shuffling of the regions is kind to Sevier County.

So there's a quote from the TSSAA's Executive Director in the article referenced above by gobears89 stating the following:

"Every classification has an opportunity to move up, but the only place we are allowing schools to move down is 6A. If one school moves into Class 6A, one has to move out. That's because we have to have 32 teams in that class to fill the new playoff bracket"

Bull hockey.

The obvious follow-up question:  Why can't you fill a 32-team bracket from a field of more than 32?

Or how about this:  Why is it more important to give schools the choice to move up to 6A than it is to maintain the same competitive safeguard for 5A schools that the other classes continue to be afforded where there's no option to drop down?

And all of this begs someone to point out, preferably in an on-the-spot interview, that the TSSAA is essentially admitting they're not concerned with competitive balance because -- come on, man -- there's no need for 6 classes.

I understand where you're coming from, however I don't think it would hurt any feelings in 5A if Maryville moved up and LaVergne moves down. LOL

TSSAA only cares about money they're never consistant about the rules.
