I can't stand to go to one of those games if it's at William Blount or Heritage because it takes to long to get out of both of those gates for all the cars that are in there wanting out. It's like having a 55 gallon barrel full of water and the only way out is through two straws. I missed most of the Alcoa and Heritage game because I was one of the two thousand people standing in a mile long line to buy a ticket when the W.B. AD could of held the game back a few minutes with all the woop wah going on outside. No it made more sense to play on when hundreds of people in line said the h### with it and went back to their cars and left. At least when it's at Alcoa or Maryville it's not like your leaving a prison complex and you have plenty of escape routes to get out and back home fast. The game itself is boring as watching a moth climb a drape. Like someone said the starters for most teams are in there one or two series at the most. It's a show of uniforms and a chance for David to beat Goliath and all the natives can't believe what they saw and start making reservations to Cookeville in December and end out going 3-7.

Well said and 100% correct.

Barney's story shows why you should always get to games (or anything else really) early. Most people don't have the common sense to get to games early so they all swarm the gates right at kickoff when all the other yahoos are in line. I have been to all the WB home games the past 6 or 7 years and it's always the same thing. I get there an hour early and I'm one of the few people there. The rest of the crowd starts piling in right before kickoff.

Don't go! Easy solution!

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
