If you handled a McMinn county team then the Pirates will represent the east

I haven't seen the team scrimmage. Just stopped by a few times to watch practice. Greenback has gotten two transfers that were all state in higher divisions. They have been added as starters to a team that already had a lot coming back. Polk Co is down, but yesterday they beat Polk ten touchdowns to one. Also, Oneida is now in 1A. They will also be a factor of who represents.

I will agree with another poster in the thread. If SP handled McMinn County this early in Coach Griders return then by week 10 the Pirates will be a FORCE to recon with as usual.Things are sounding alot better in Pirate country..

I hope you are correct, but with only two seniors, absolutely zero depth on the line and only 30 on our roster it will be tough. Trust me when I say this about our team. Outside of last season this will be the weakest overall we have been since 2004. This team will work extremely hard and hopefully overachieve and extend the season as far as they can, but don't bet on a return to Cookeville this season.

Barney what kind of mess is this? Grider should have just put on Murphys survey we will just be lucky to be out there. You think im joking but im not.

Word is he pretty much begged Ross for mercy at the rotary club dinner. That is quite funny, good thing Ross believes in getting the young ones in. I guess you already knew that though didn't ya.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
