Why doesn't maryville play other states top teams?

You still didn't answer my question can open enrollment schools in Ohio go out and recruit like privates since they are in the same division? If not then Ohio system is a joke! You might want to do some research before you say that then highest rate of open enrollment are the football schools, not the highest educational schools. Go tell that to open enrolled teams in my area, north greene, west greene, south greene, chuckey-Doak you have probably never heard of them other then seeing them on the coacht scoreboard. (They aren't that good in football) Hate to tell you that 2 out of the top 3 highest ranked School systems in the state are both open zoned. Maryville city school system and Greeneville city school system. Maybe a strong community has something to do with it but no that would be to obvious. Sorta like how you posted in another thread about how Riverdale has changed . You must have changed your views in a year.....

To answer your question. The school cannot openly recruit but the students family has the right to pay the fee and attend any school they want to. When they made the change the fees to open enrollment schools raised so much that the already prominent  private Catholic Schools began to draw the higher level of players and now they dominate the state in football.

Talk about unfair playing field. So one can openly recruit and the the one can't. I hope TSSAA is smarter than the fools in Ohio.

Wow, you can be that blind. They have the highest rate of open enrollment football players in the state!! Other schools draw is the higher level of education.

So  since you seem to be "ALL KNOWING" about everything. Where does your information show Maryville ranking from an academic standpoint?

I think your missing it. its illegal for all schools to openly and actively recruit players. The ones that charge enrollment fees are now considered private in both cases. Not all schools and counties are open enrollment.

I know what your saying now, I also read were 17% of all schools in Ohio are private while 81% are open zoned so only 2 % left as neither. Its differnt in TN. A lot smaller citys and alot more spread out. Do you know why most schools that are opened zoned charge a tuition? It's the difference in the city and county taxes. So what happens to the open zone schools that don't charge a tuition? They still get thrown into privates?

    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
