Was he that upset about being fired from baseball? Haven't heard much about Maryville Baseball being relevelant since the mid 90's. They had a stockpile of left handed pitchers then. Maryville Tried to Hire Tommy Pharr of CAk before Hiring Catholics Baseball coach? I hope he isn't sick and just wanted to step away?

Sorry, didn't mean you but was talking about the article. Not sure if that was mutually agreed upon spin or if GQ did that one by himself. I am sure we will hear more.

I highly doubt Quarles had anything to do with it. Probably something higher up in the system.

If Gaylor was that upset about being fired from baseball, he probably would have left Maryville in the offseason. Gaylor wouldn't just leave now.

i never knew so many people hated Fulton lol... ive seen this game talked about on at least 7 different threads... All saying we are going to get throttled, thrashed, etc... I like it though it's not like our boys needed any extra motivation but it can't hurt... All the pressure is really on Maryville and that can be dangerous... Just don't be surprised if Fulton somehow finds a way to pull the upset... GQ said it best Fulton has nothing to lose and Maryville has everything to lose

As a longtime friend and fan of Coach Gaylor, since way back to his Clinton days, this is very sad news for the Maryville community and East TN football fans alike.  I do not know the extent of his situation, but I do know that he has some substantial health and family concerns.  Football can become unimportant very quick when life hits us.  I wish Coach Gaylor the very best, and will certainly be praying for him and his family. 

 

As for the game tomorrow night, both teams are dealing with adversity.  However, both teams are champions for a reason.  This will be a great high school football game and make an ET football fan like me very proud.  Good luck both ways.
