Who has done a better job recruiting this year CPA or Alcoa?

There was a point in time where hard work, community support & pride, a commitment to achieve higher standards in one's morality, spiritually, & physical abilities, and teamwork to get the job done were the norm. CPA, Alcoa, Maryville, Fulton, & a few others still have it. A total effort by all involved to be the best you could be. To become successful you have to put yourself among those with positive attitudes and productive results. Parents & kids want to become a part of these programs. The programs do not have to seek them out. Build it and they will come. These programs have built it.

CPA & Maryville probably will not out athlete anyone they play. But they dang sure will outwork & out hustle anyone on the field. From the players, to the coaches, to the supporters, to the administration. Quit your dang whining and work on your own house. There are examples within these programs on how to get it done. :thumb:

Wiseman Giles being wise.  So much respect for Giles County and their community.

Getting off the bus last two weeks....both teams CPA has played had more talented players than anyone on the CPA roster.  Our kids are good athletes but we have no SEC recruits.  We have several that will play in college but most of our players are just above average athletes coached to play at their highest level and compete as a part of something bigger than  themselves.

Peachtree Ridge had 12 kids being recruited by ACC/SEC/Big 10 schools.  Knox Catholic had two of the best players in the state committed to SEC and Pac 12 teams and plenty of size and talent at other positions as well.  Plenty of respect for a very good Knox Catholic team.

CPA has heart, conviction, attitude, work ethic, great coaching and execution.   Our opponents have 7 turnovers against us in first two games....CPA has none.  Our kids bought into the program when Ingle Martin arrived.  Previous two seasons varsity with same caliber athletes went 5-6 and 3-7.   Part of buying in is being committed to a strength and conditioning program during the offseason that is rigorous.  We're reaping the benefits today of kids that have bought in for what is now their 5th season in the program going back to MS football.

It also means buying into a team concept where stars give up stats to be part of a winning program.  Starters at CPA have to realize they are not going to get their stats padded to impress college coaches.  They are part of something bigger than themselves.  Coaches will recognize the talent and we put kids in college programs but we do not run the score up and substitute liberally if we get a lead.

The starting QB, both RB's, WRs, TEs, leading tacklers at LB, several OL, etc all started at CPA all started in elementary or middle school BEFORE Ingle Martin was hired as coach.

No recruiting, no big impact transfers.  Just making the most out of talent that was on the roster.

I can't beat the drum loud enough.  Just want people to understand what CPA did to build a winner.  It's not sexy and won't generate clicks on a website but it's the truth.

If CPA beats Alcoa for the gold ball again this year, then you will see some of the Alcoa faithful whining about wanting to move down a class to 2A since that is their rightful class anyways. You can bet on that.

Alcoa has 611 students enrolled this year at the new high school. 2A status is long gone.

8-)

Booger ant no fan of CPA.....ant no fan of Alcoee either; darn PUB school took our chance at that belt away from us last year....but respect for them both.....as a fan of the game and player of the game for many years; and at more than 1 level; got it and still get it.....those 2 are the bar today; at least in our present class....the Irish were close to that bar in 2014 and if we were to play Alcoee again; we might take em; who nose....but to do what they are doing year after year; that is where Booger wants his Irish to be...that takes a ton of work, support and great coaching; lots of decent to above average kids and just 1 or 2 real good ones buying in might just let you do it...at least you can threaten those 2's spot at the dance

thing that has to be understood about the large portion of the yappers (some which are full grown men and others that are still nursin) on T that are always whining, flowin drainage from their sinuses and searchin for the inequeties in there own lives, have never played this game at any level; other than peewee maybe...and a portion of these yappers might see their team play if and only when they at home....no travel outside of 15 miles.... .they dont truly get it and they dont truly understand it; they just nose that the good lord put here to warm bleacher seast and yap about what they think they nose

now that being said, there are men here on T that have been there and done it; but are still searchin for those inequities that they think surrounds their loved program and have no other recourse but to blame others for what their teams cannot accomplish....sleepin in a house of glass will make a man do these things....and Booger luvs lookin at em from the outside

Go to the 1A/2A forum and read that mess the SP faithful are throwin at MC....and how many belts does SP have

Good grief fella. They aren't loaded like many other schools with top Div 1 talent. Don't make it into something it wasn't Booger.

I was told the new Alcoa school would hold 1200 ish can anyone confirm that amount? If so they will be in 4A/5A before we know it?

If that's just for 9-12 I believe they would be placed in 5A as things stand now according to the TSSAA. White County was placed in 5A with an enrollment of 1195 that was taken in 2014.
