Doesn't take a lot of knowledge to know Davy Crockett is the better team. They own a 1-0 record against them this year there buddy. :)

You here to troll or to actually have an educated discussion? NC State beat Duke last year, and Duke ended up winning the National Championship. Does that mean NC State was better than Duke? Of course not. Any team can be beaten on a given night. While DC may be better than us after it's all said and done, but surely you aren't that dense to say they're better after beating us 1 time by 2 points with 7000 fans in their corner? At least be logical. I sure hope they are that arrogant and confident if we play them again. Edited by SweetScience

SS are you old enough to remember Norm Jefferson?

I was too young to watch Norm play, but I remember him well from being around the Boys Club as a kid when I was growing up. The earliest I can remember back for basketball was in 84. I remember Ronnie Scott, Orion Cox, and Alfred Jones pretty well. I can still remember Orion slamming it one game. I was in amazement lol

Last time I checked D.C. beat o.r. so yes they should be ahead in the polls. Crockett will win again if they meet in sub state. Beat player plays for D.C.and the better coach is coach good so that means a win for d.c. if they meet again.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, I just got back from changing my clothes from laughing so hard at this statement I pissed on my self. Best player plays for DC? Ok mr bball, where is this kid going to college? Bet you don't know do u? Well, I was there the night they played, sat near the ETSU coach for two days, his best offer so far is a walk on invite from the bucs. Higgins? Well, the mailman has bad to have back surgery hauling all those satchels to his front door. Not only can he go anywhere he wants for football, but this kid, who doesn't play the AAU circuit is getting SEC offers for bball. Now, a lot are offered knowing he's probably going to play football in college and NFL. So there's not a lot of public recruiting in bball, but make no mistake, the best player, plays for OR, he's 6-5 and a mr bball finalist, after being named mr. Football a month ago. As a matter a fact there's 3-4 OR players I'd take right now over Good. Nice little player, but he'd be average in our district. I won't even respond to the coach Good thing, it doesn't deserve one.

While I am not a fan of either school....I can recognize basketball talent respect good coaching and maybe provide an unbiased view point.

The OR/DC match up at Arby's was epic for East Tennessee basketball. At best it was a top 10 ten game all time at the Classic. Considering it was a local team playing a neighbor from the west added so much to the atmosphere. Will the next game played draw 7k fans? Most likely not because you wont have the DB SH Tenn High East and general fans of basketball in attendance it will for the most part be fans of the schools playing. What makes the Arby's special.

Tee is the best football player i have seen playing basketball since Kirby from Virginia. Sheer athleticism and the raw skills he displays are crazy good makes you have to ask just how good can he be if he choose to work on basketball more then part time?

Good is a basketball payer..... he is too small he cant do, he will never make it, where is he going to play in college.... well all i know is the kid just finds a way to get it done. Having older siblings i am sure he took it on the chin and herd about it everyday from big brother and big sister. (well he plays with a chip on his shoulder like he was schooled in the back yard at home daily). As fans and even coaches we tend to forget just how big the heart comes in to play when talking about how good a player is.

For the wing player who can play both inside and outside change the game with his strength and athleticism and simply makes the entire gym go wow Tee is the best. However for the undersized underdog who nobody ever said they could make it but somehow his teams and he just simply seem to always win. You then have to give it to Good. it is like trying to compare King James to Mr Curry both great players very different players but both great.

How do you choose who is better simple..... you argue for months weeks and years on a message board and the debate never seems to be settled. Both are great players both are winners both are great kids both come from great families who raised them with a wonderful set of values so i say keep winning boys and keep them on the opposite side of the bracket and lets see if either can show the west just how special they are.

Coach vs Coach

Both have learned from great coaches Pitts and Pearl just to name 2. Both have the respect of theirs players and both get their teams to play extremely hard. Most if not all High School programs would love to have those qualities in their coach. X and O both seem to be able to scheme with the best of them. Green however has more experience so he gets the vote for better coaching but Good seems to have all of the traditional basketball schools in upper east Tennessee screaming to fire their  current coach and bring in Good to replace them.

Alumni of the great and all powerful SH have turned there back on their great school and become supporters of Cow Pasture High why for the most part it has been one person Good. When you look at the list of assistants and volunteer coaches on DC bench you have to look twice it seems there is a who's who's of SH alumni.... That by it self is reason to make you think that this Good guy can coach.

In summary Coaching edge would go to Green but as time passes could Good close the gap...time will tell.

Player that all fans who are honest with themselves has to be Tee. He is better....Good will just go back to work on his shot and ball skills and just keep getting the job done till one day he has done what everyone said he could not do and that is make it.

The only loser will be the fans if these 2 great coaches and players don't get to lead their teams against each other one more time this year. The game they played at the Arby's was well a Classic.

As a basketball fan I look forward to following them for years to come.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
