was referring to (all) region 2 sec teams. 7,10,13 num of points scored on this D. I believe this can be considered shut'em down. Sorry if you took it just about Oakland. They had a good plan to stay in the game. Just not seen to many teams one deminsonal be able to win against the Rebs like that.

I'll give you that. Overall, they did keep them in check. Oakland's D stood pretty strong as well. But Cookeville was never in the old 7AAA (old SEC district) and Cookeville was never on par with a Blackman or Oakland.

I was gonna ask about the number of new schools projected. But if you build 5-6 more schools and the population more than doubles, won't the talent pool be the same? (at least in theory)

Went from being dominant in the 90's to where we are now after the population doubled and double the number of HSs.

It will further spread out the talent.

5-6 new HSs is being conservative based on population projections.

Ahh but you're wrong oh great one.

Cookeville WAS in the old 7-AAA. The original 7-AAA! And we beat Oakland my senior year thank you!

Well there's no denying that it'll probably never be like it was in the 80's & 90's again.

But I think RuCo will be fine...

Lol

Y'all are so thin skinned. Feel like you have to defend every post.

that one is not thinned skinned i assure you of that. But all of you other folks out there seem to think that MARYVILLE fans should just sit back and take the ðŸƒðŸ’© that many of you spew because we have a trophy case thats full ðŸ†ðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸˆ's but that just isnt the case. Many of us will defend the empire unapolghetically. But like have said a 1000x on here , keep on hating because it fuels the machine. ðŸ˜

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
