In the football office of BA last spring to talk scheduling for a kickoff classic that was to be played at Vanderbilt. Coaches said that it couldn't happen because team A and team B would never play us. I thought we could make it very lucrative for those teams, but i guess not. GQ was called on speaker phone, pretty much as a joke, and when asked he told the BA coach that "it would be more competitive for them(BA) to play an out of state team". Ask GQ what he said when BA called on April 24, 2015 to schedule a game for this year. Kinda call BS on this. Knowin all schools schedules are already set at that time. Oakland came to play and put up a great effort. In the end though their red zone troubles were too much to overcome and with the exception of one bad pass the Maryville Rebels played a clean game. Oakland just doesn't have the type of offense to beat Maryville, pure and simple. Oakland has a few really good athletes but top to bottom Maryville was definitely the superior team. Their offense is outdated but defensively they are athletic and fly around. Anyone would be challenged to beat them besides Maryville. I will leave you all alone to live in your world. 1st person accounts could ruin your perception. Maryville obviously has taking care of their business and know how to dominate. Agree on their defense, but you can't beat Maryville with that type of offense without far superior personnel, which they didn't have, obviously.
