Peabody vs NCS

Yes, we lost 39-0 then beat them 35-14. When we met Dresden the first time, we did not have Malone playing QB. He was on the field, but our back up QB played that game. When Malone had some issues in the classroom, the Coach took away his QB position. He had to earn that leadership position back. He only touched the ball a few times. With kids not playing their regular positions, it really threw the entire team off. Once the team got back into place again, they started firing on all cylinders and caught their playoff spark.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I pray you all have a blessed day!

You got that right. They have caught fire now for sure. State Championship game is tomorrow night. Win that one and you win another ring.

From the Tennessean

CLASS 1A

PEABODY (12-1) AT NASHVILLE CHRISTIAN (12-1)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Nashville Christian advanced its third straight semifinal appearance with last week’s 34-21 triumph over Wayne County, forcing three turnovers while limiting a prolific Wildcats offense to a season-low 21 points. However two Eagle turnovers, coupled with the team’s 14 penalties for 110 yards, kept things close throughout. NCS will need to clean up those issues if it hopes to secure its first championship appearance. Defending Class 2A champion Peabody, just two weeks removed from snapping powerhouse Union City’s 38-game winning streak, also avenged its other regular-season loss a week ago, rolling to a 35-14 rout of Dresden behind quarterback Kendrick Malone’s three-touchdown passing performance.

Murphy’s pick: Peabody 28, Nashville Christian 27

Brown’s pick: Nashville Christian 24, Peabody 14

    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
    • Heard Seq has gotten a lot stronger this off season. Can’t wait to see how the boys do this year
