Region 4 1A

Recommended Posts

Currently, I think the region standings look something like this

1. CA 5-0
2. Summertown 6-1
3. Fayetteville 5-2
4. Cornersville 4-2

While SHS and FHS are tied with the region record, SHS gets the 2 spot for now based on overall record. Next week it will be SHS at Cornersville. Following that they have Fayetteville. Two huge weeks coming up for the Eagles. Can they keep the dream season going?

I think that summertown will take care of conersville, but I'm not so sure about Fayetteville. Either way they will secure a nice playoff spot and will either go 8-2 or 9-1 in regular season which is pretty darn good for only the second year.

Current standings based on region record and possible matchups

1.CA (4-0 region)

2. Cornersville (4-0 region)

3. Summertown (4-1 region, 6-1 overall)

4. Fayetteville (4-1 region, 5-2 overall)

Going to be very interesting to see how this all plays out from here on out

1.CA (5-0 region, 5-0 overall)                   VS Grace Baptist (2-2 region, 4-4 overall)

2. Cornersville (4-0 region, 4-2 overall)     VS Copper Basin (3-1 region, 4-3 overall)

3. Summertown (4-1 region, 6-1 overall)  AT Whitwell (2-0 region, 3-3 overall)

4. Fayetteville (4-1 region, 5-2 overall)      AT South Pittsburg (2-0 region, 5-1 overall)

This is how it currently would set up. That possible Stown vs Whitwell matchup is interesting. SP vs Fayetteville would be a barn burner. Cornersville vs Copper Basin might be the best game in this set up.

Absolutely NO WAY Fayetteville finishes 4th. I think they will finish 2nd and Cornersville 3rd and Summertown 4th. They all have to play each other in the next couple weeks.

He was going on current standings. Yes there is a lot of games to be played. But there is always a way. No likely but always possible. FC should finish second but there isn't that big a gap between the top 4 for any guarantees.

    • 20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year
    • As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.
    • I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.
    • I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
    • Yeah. AC brass walked in to the building at Clinton and suggested that the principal start changing grades.  Honesty, the notion that anybody at AC was involved is just idiocy.  The ones who are hurt most are the kids who weren't involved in the cheating, but still are being penalized by college admission decisions and scholarship consideration simply because they went to a school that was involved in such a scandal.
