Defense is fine and lead by LB Tahj Williams. He is the best linebacker that Williamson county has seen in years. Ravenwood has the best O-Line in school history, lead by 6-7 Duke commit Patrick Lietten. The new coaching staff has experience at the game's highest level, the NFL. In addition, the Raptors have hired longtime Titans special teams coach Allen Lowery. The sceduled is loaded early, but eases after the halfway point. The toughest team the Raptors play this year will be Maryville.

Best linebacker williamson county has seen in years? The kid is good but you must have a short memory with Dodson graduating from Centennial last year.

Mark Dodson had 15 carries for 100 yards in that game... He should gotten more carries and pass catching opportunities in that game.

I did here that Dodson had hurt is leg in Mt Juliet game. May have effected how many touches he got. He should have had  25 + touches if he was healthy. A great back and from what I hear; even a better person.

I meant to say one of the best, because Dodson was truly a beast. I cannot think of any other standout linebackers the county has seen in a while. Hope Dodson does well at Texas A&M because the kid is a class act.

To my recollection Mark was fine. I don't think he was injured. I base that more on what coach Saulsberry had to say after the 2011 game then anything else. He stated that Whitehaven got away from what we did best that season, which was run MD. He said the we played 'out of character', and he was right. He stated that if we got back to the championship game that he would play it doing what we do best. We tried to air it out more then usual. It cost us big time. Now, we had play makers at the WR positions and we had a good QB ... but our bread and butter was running MD behind that big bruising OL that we had. Coach Saulsberry corrected that mistake in 2012.

    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
