Congrats to Pearl-Cohn on winning a Silver Ball in 3A.  They had a great season at 14-1.  Cane Ridge, East Nashville, and Stratford all had solid years reaching the Second Round of the playoffs.

The off-season has arrived and the silly season is upon us.  Whites Creek is officially open.  They have had so many coaches in recent years.  Richard Coure and Anthony Law had some successful years at Whites Creek.  That seems like it was so long ago.

I cant blame the coach. The football has no kids left and he would be crazy to leave his son to go thru that.

Whites Creek used to compete with MBA, Father Ryan and all the other metro squads each year back in the day.  The Creek and MBA were usually the two top Nashville teams from the early 90s.  The Law years with Graham at the helm could beat just about anyone.

Will MLK/Pearl be the top Metro team next year or will Cane Ridge regroup and take the title of Metro's best?

Whites Creek has about 500 kids in the building right now.  They have one more year at the 3A level and then they will be dropping to 2A.  If that is the case I personally believe you can be successful and win there if you can get the kids to buy in and play for you as a coaching staff.  I really don't think 5-5 is out of the question with the upcoming schedule in 2020 if you can get a group of players to come out and buy in as a team.

Cannot argue that logic

Not sure where you are getting your numbers but their report to  the state says 634. Public record. They will not see  2A

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
